Does the back seats recline?

Never owned a ford truck was interested in the Super Crew. Looking to get a trailer to do some lite camping but the wife thinks long trips will kill the kids backs. She rather get an SUV. So do the back seats recline?

Thanks,

The back seats fold down flat so you could put a sleeping back bag there. However, I would be very careful in light of seat belt laws. I find they are very strict about that here in TX and it is a hefty ticket.

No, the Supercrew rear seats do not recline.

I think they're at a very nice angle even though they don't recline, I've ridden on long trips in the back many times and it's very comfortable (and my back isn't a very good one either.)

It is comfortable back there but, no, the seats don't recline.

Also, if you're looking at a 'botique' edition (HD, KR, ETC) that has a center console, the backseats don't lay exactly flat relative to the top of the console.

Sorry to say your wife is right. The back seats are up against the back of the cab, and don't recline. They are not as comfortable as the rear buckets in a minivan so I suppose the same would apply to buckets in an SUV.

The problem is you won't get the towing strength and endurance with most SUVs. You'll have to get a Expedition for that.

Before I got married I thougt that men who drove an SUV were those who wanted to drive a truck, but their wives made them get an SUV. When I got married I found out I was right, and just drove the family around in a minivan. Now my kids have their own cars and I have my truck.

Yaaaa, some day they'll ride with me.

I actually took the wife and kids with me when I went looking for a truck and had them sit in the back seat of the trucks I test drove.

the SuperCrew back seats were hands down the most comfortable. They are very SUV like even though they don't recline.

I wouldn't let my kids ever sit in a reclined seat. It would be too easy for them to slide right out from under the belts.

I'd suggest going out with your family and test driving a SuperCrew and you can see for yourself fisthand how comfortable both the front and back are.

Thanks to all those who replied. I'm getting the idea here. What I really need to do is get the family over for a test drive and see what she thinks. I already told her the kids could ride in the trailer as we tow it to the campsites. She had a blank stare as if she wasn't sure what to say. Like "Oh yea! I didn't think about that" or "Hmmm, I didn't think about that but I still want an SUV." Sheeesh... I just want my toy.

Thanks again for the replies...

I think the kids will be perfectly fine in the cab, those are great seats! (Much bigger than the Supercab) Your wife will probably fall in love with the supercrew once she rides in one.

The back seats are very comfortable in the SCrew. They are full sized back seats, just as you would have in an SUV (except for the reclining feature.) Taking your family for a test drive is an excellent idea.
