Cabin Filters

Question, do our trucks have a 'cabin filter'? I know the GM's have this, helps filter out pollen, smoke etc. If not, is there something I can do via aftermarket or ask the dealer?

TIA,

Jag

I remember someone posting about this a VERY long time ago. Maybe even more than a year ago. I do belive that you can install a air filter in the F150s but what size/make of filter I have no idea.

Question

I saw a commercial where this lady was working in a lab and they where talking about how Ford developed some super duper outside air filtration unit. I thought they had them....until I bought my screw and realised nope.....my Chevy had one you could replace, like a heppa filter in a vaccum....I wonder why the Ford trucks don't have them.

There is a kit for the Super Crew. It was discussed a long time ago. Search is giving me errors though.

The only post I found in the search was this one... https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...t=cabin+filter and it wasn't much help.

But I did find a filter made by Fram that says it is a cabin air filter for a 2001 SuperCrew. Fram part number CF8631. Just goto thier website www.fram.com and do a search on it.

Otherwise I would call your dealer and ask them if this is availble.

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. I will post more info when I get a chance to call the dealer to ask them.

They do sell a kit for the Screw, but I don't recall the price. Post the info when you get it.

Thanks,

Rick

It is an option on *other* Ford models. However, it can be installed in a SCrew. I think I have the part number and installation instructions at home. But your local dealer should know the part number for it. I believe it was approx. $150.00 kit? And the install is said to be manageable as long as you are around 3' tall and 60 lbs. . Check with a dealer. just call the parts dept and ask.....

Ok, Just got home and dug up the part number. The cabin air filter fits up under the dash just above where the front passenger toes would be.It filters all the fresh and recirc'd air.
The filter assembly is part # F65Z-18D477-AA. List is ~$105.00, but you shouldn't pay more than $70.00 or so.It takes about 1 hour to install, but it is aggravating. If you got a little kid, he may be of help

Also, found another goodie #. The trailer hitch ball hole on the bumper has a plug available in several colors. Part #XL3Z-17D754-AAB, is for the black one. Other colors are available by changing the last 3 letters, but you will have to ask the parts man for the codes/colors. They look good and at $6 bucks, is a cheap and functional mod.

Hope these are of help.... later man, I got to go fishin....

I'm going to have to check on that one... I've been thinking about doing that for quite some time....

I just need the 'tan' 3 letter extension.

Thanks for that part number... I've been wondering about that one for a while now.
