Question Retrax or ??

I have done a lot of research of bed covers and i really like what i have heard about Retrax, for my 2002 screw, My discounted price would be $850 +$50 in shipping. but they are currently backed up a couple weeks. This the best price i have found. any one else se anything lower, i am going to order in the next 2 days, unless someone tells me of a better product.

Others i have looked at
Undercover (Locks but have no where to hang when no on truck)
access cover (This Locks but can it be cut????)
Retrax (Locks takes up 15 inch of bed when open)
Pace Edward (Poor Design for Screw)
Roll-and-Lock (Heard Nothing Bad or Good any thoughts)
Extang Soft Tonneau (Had one before Great Soft Cover no way to keep the scum of the world out)
Caps (I don't like some people do)
Hard Covers (I Don't like some people do)

Retrax Dealer that help me.

You might want to reconsider the Undercover. My buddy bought one for his Screw and it works great. It weighhs only 58 or so pounds and is easy to take on and off. It also comes with mounting hooks for your garage where you can hang it when it is off the truck. It has the benefits of fiberglass hard tops w/out the weight or the cost. It's about 1/2 of the fiberglass tops.

I got a Retrax cover for my supercab from Joe Oliver a couple of months ago. He was a good guy to deal with, and he even had Retrax cut out the part of the mounting rail that usually covers the stake pockets so that mine are still usable.

The only two things that I don't like about the Retrax is the extra amount that is taken away from the bed, (you already mentioned that), and the second is that the cover rattles going over rough roads, (but this is usually only noticable when I have my rear sliding window open).

If you want to see a picture of it, there is one in my gallery.

Undercover

Do you have to open the cover every time you want access to the bed using the tailgate, I was told you do. as for the Retrax you do not is that correct

With the Retrax, you can open just the tailgate without having to open the cover.

i vote retrax

I have the Retrax and love it. As long as you install it properly it doesn't rattle and the function is smooth. It looks beautiful when it's clean.
Be patient and wait for it. I don't think you'll regret it.
Cheers,
Marcus

I don't think it's a matter of if it is installed right or not, the canister that the cover rolls into is metal. If you go over a bumpy enough road, or a driveway like mine (1000' long with all limestone) the canister rattles, not the cover itself.

Like I said though, I can only hear it rattle with my rear sliding window open, plus my truck is only a SuperCAB, so the cannister is closer for me to hear it.

Retrax

My Retrax Works great, I have never heard it rattle and i run with the windows down alot.. Easy to install you will need two people to install it, only becuase it's a little bit of a pain to move by your self I still have yet to fix the weather strip near the front where the bed liner meets in a driving wind of car wash a little water gets in but becuase of the bedliner it runs out, nothing has ever goten wet, I love how it locks I will post some pic's tonight
