If the dealer is installing the autolamp kit that gives the DRL as an option YOU DO NOT WANT THIS KIT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

The kit (which is what I presume the dealer ordered based on your post) is CRAP... it has a stick on light sensor and there is NO WAY to turn off the lights in the dark. No switch, no nothing. It just sucks.

As SSCULLY posted the link to my original thread... order the parts, and do it yourself. If your dealer is installing the kit, you WILL NOT be happy with it. The stick on sensor and lack of ability to turn it off makes it just awful.

I got mine from helminc.com
Several others said they got theirs from eBay.

I got the CD with the complete service manual, and the paper copy of the EVTM. That is me, both are not needed that way just what I did.

Hmm, I better check into that. I assumed it would be like the factory install part. Not an aftermarket type deal. I certainly do not want the stick on sensor. I can call Ford Parts.com and get it much cheaper anyhow. Thank for the warning

Question Hmm

O.k.

I am blonde.....I went to helminc.com and punched in the info and am not sure wich one to buy. It won't be the Electronic Service information DVD at $2,200

Is it the wiring diagrams? I don't see anything that says EVTM.

Yeah,

you will definately want to look into it with the dealer. I like to keep folks from making the same assumption I did. Dealer took 4 hours to install it and took 8 hours to remove it.....

The "self install" is the way to go.... or tell them what parts to order and let them do it. As sad as it is, they might not know it can be done that way.

I told my dealer about it and now they do it to a lot of trucks... they keep all the parts in stock and offer it for the cost of parts and $25 labor.... a fair deal in my opinion.

That is it, the wiring diagrams. Ford calls it a EVTM. I am sure that GM calls it something else. ??

The one I looked up fpr my 2001 F-150 is :
Part #: FCS1226301 price : $60.00

I think this is the CD I bought, and it seems to be the same as the boot leg copies selling on eBay for about 10% the cost :
Part #: FCS1277201 price: $ 230.00
But this is the old version on CD rom, the newer ones are DVD and alot better then the CD version.

BTW : the CD or the DVD contain the EVTM as well.

Steve

My 2003 Lariat has the autolamp. I also have the auto rear view mirror where it automatically changes the look/dulls of the headlight behind you, used it last night for the first time, pretty cool.
