SuperCrew Problem???

Help,

I have a 2003 Supercrew 4X4 with the 5.4L engine-3.73 axle and am feeling a light vibration/buzzing through the accelerator when pushing down on the gas and on letting up on the pedal. I only feel it through the foot pad and no where else. What do you think the problem could be. It is driving me crazy and I know if I go to the dealer they will think I am nuts. I am thinking it just may be the cable. Otherwise the truck is great.

I have the extact same truck and noticed the same thing.....just thought it was because it was new....or a ford......or just really didn't pay attention...but I noticed it went away after installing a K&N air filter.....picked it up at autozone for $49.00.

Maybe the motor for the pedal adjustments is wiggin out??????

Mine stopped after about 200 miles.....so maybe its just one of those things.

Have you tried changing the pedal position, up or down, slightly? Just a thought.

Question

Do you have that buzzing noise more when you first start your truck in the morning? Also, does it do it after it has reached normal temps when you hit a certain rpm? I have this problem with mine it sounds like it is coming from the passenger side lower firewall area....the dealer put a damper on the exhaust because they thought it was resinating thru the cab but it didn't work. I think it is a cable or something actually vibrating against the firewall but it is hard to see in that area cause everything is crammed in there. I'm going to put it on a friends lift in his shop soon to see if I can find the problem if I do I'll let you know.

buzzing

Make sure the accelerator cable is attached to it's clips under the hood. We had the same problem with the wife's Exploder and after two trips to the dealeship I noticed the accelerator cable was out of its clip and just sitting on top of the intake cover. I put it back in it's clip and problem solved.

Thank's for all of your replies!

I plan on checking the pedal adjustment and also the accelerator cable. I have a feeling that the vibration is coming from the cable and will check under the hood this afternoon. Thanks guy's...

Yesterday, I purchased a K&N air filter and am not really happy with how it fits in the intake housing. It does not fit as snug as the factory filter. I will use it for a week and see how it goes.

Lightbulb K&N

When I put my K&N filter in it was a little difficult also. Seems as though I took the air box back apart just to check to see that the filter was not at an angle because it just seemed as though it was not sitting in there right...but it was....it should be fine. I was so impressed with the throttle response difference I bought another K&N for my wifes car and she loves it.

Do a search. that was an inherent problem back in '01. the throttle cable is out of it's slot or the tie down is broken. I believe it was also a groment in the firewall, too.
