Question Stereo Speaker Questions

Posted this in the last speaker thread but I think ig got buried.

I need a little advice here. I am going to upgrade the speakers in my Screw. I already added the clarion camo sub, just want to get some crispers highs. Crutchfield offers several "bolt in" choices from which to choose. My question is should I put the three way speakers in the rear or front doors? I am considering some polks with tweeters that you can aim for the front, and some blantpunkt three ways for the rear. Sound like the proper choice?

I just ordered the Pioneer Speakers from Crutchfield. I got the 3 ways for the front and the two ways for the back. I guess the 3 ways won't fit in the back? I just kinda copied what the others did on that thread and most of them got the pioneers. Almost did the polk audio....I do not know wich is better.....but anything will be better then the paper speakers that come stock.

3-ways *CAN* fit in the back however; you'll have to use some type of 'spacer' such that you can have the necessary depth.

I used about 1/2" of cork on all four of the mounting holes. Worked perfectly...

I have 3-Way Pioneer's all the way around. They sound GREAT.

Hmm..The crutchfield catalog called the Blaupunkt 3 ways an easy fit for the rears.

The depth might vary with manufacturer. Not sure.

I know my Pioneers WOULD NOT fit without the spacers.

I ordered some JBL's from Crutchfield. They are 2 ways, but no issues in the front or rear.
Great sound from them, and a good price. I think 99ea.

I got my SCrew in Oct 2000. The day after I picked it up I put the three-way Pioneers all the way around. I used dynamat under the speakers as I put them in and just put a second layer under the "rim" of the rear speakers. I have been really happy with them but it's time to add some bass. I just ordered the Subbox.net box along with a Profile amp and MTX 6000 10" sub. I have heard that this setup should be pretty good. No a young "roll down the windows and blast the guy in the car next to me" kinda guy. Just a 40-something rocker that wants some better bass in the old music.
