Bug Deflector
I bought a Bugflector, 30 seconds to install and looks nice, low profile and aerodynamic!! I believe its the best looking one on the market. I bought a LUND for my wifes car, what a piece of JUNK, I ripped it off after a month and installed the Bugflector!! The VentVisors look nice to match....

I actually like the LUND products better. I have thought the Bugflectors were kinda cheesy in comparison? I wonder how it got ripped off? I had an Interceptor on my last truck and that thing lasted like a champ, even in bad wind/rain storms. No problems at all.
Oh well, to each his own...

My $.02 worth here. I put a deflector on my wifes Escape. Bought it thru Ford, figuring it would be a better quality. Not so! It went on very easy, but it vibrates when you are going down the highway. i was pissed. I went to local parts store , Advance Auto I believe, and bought a Bugflector II for my KR Screw. What a difference. Heavier guage plastic and still no drilling to put it on. I was driving just last night in 40 mph wind gusts and it didn't move at all. I am thinking about taking off the Ford one on my wifes Escape and buying a Bugflector II for hers too.
Lund Interceptor
I have a the acrylic version (painted white from behind) and it also did not come with rubber stick-on bumpers since it was sturdy enough.
Problems! First of all, after staring at it for a couple of days, the darn thing started to evolve into a huge bulky peice of plastic on my front end. The more I stared at it, the more bulky I thought of it. I have to admit though, it was cool looking in pictures, and neat at first glance, but some how as I walked around the truck, it became fuglier and fuglier by the day! After tilting my head at various angles to view the deflector, and in efforts that I would force myself to learn to like this fugly product, I decided to open the hood. What a surprise! ,,,and just what I needed!...the Intererceptor began to scuff/remove/damage the paint off at various places on the grille surround! In addition, my wife was saddened by the fact that I didnt reinstall the deflector, since it was a suprise gift from her ( I mentioned about the good reviews about this product to her in the past, so she decided to buy it for me). I guess I was wrong. Thanks alot Lund!
PS
I wasn't that mad, the Lund Interceptor is still in one peice.

Question for those of you with the Lund Interceptor or the Bugflector II etc..
Can you go through an automatic car wash with one of these puppies? Will it tear off if you do?
Just curious.
TIA,

It goes through an automatic car wash just fine. That's not my biggest problem. I don't like the way they put fine scratches on the surface of the paint.
The last time I went through a complimentary car wash I forgot to close the moon roof, and forgot I had my rollerblades in the box. The attendant closed the moon roof for me, but just left the rollerblades in the box and they got soaked.

Well,
After a lot of debating what to do, I went with the Bugflector II after all!
I had the Lund Trident, which I still thought was a better quality product, heavier gauge plastic, 'metal' screws and all. But I did NOT like the fact that it is held onto the hood with clamps. I could just imagine what it would look like in five years under there.
So back to the store with the Trident and just installed the Bugflector II today.
Not bad looking, (I liked the Trident better) but it will do. At least I can go through a car wash with it if I have to.
The only thing that I thought was cheesy is that it came with six plastic screws that screw into pre-existing holes in the underside of the hood.
Hopefully it will last for the long run. I plan to keep my truck a long time.

I too thought the plastic inserts supplied with the Bugflector II were cheesy, and I just could not bring myself to trust them.
I found some little metal "inserts" at Advance Auto that snap into the factory holes under the hood. I then used 1/2" #6 stainless steel sheet metal screws with stainless washers to hold the Bugflector in place.
The best thing is the Bugflector mounting is super strong and hasn't worked loose since I installed it back in 2001.
The little inserts came 4 or 5 to a pack for $1.49. They were not stainless, but they have not begun to rust yet.

That's true, but we have a long way to go to compete with the 22 inch wiper blade.
