if the legal tint here is %35 and the factory rear window tint is 18%....Im thinking Im gonna have to just break that law. I want a perfect match.

does anyone know how much the ticket is for illegal tint? and how often cops will actually bust you on it?

 

Fines vary from state to state. I know some cops will actually give you a razor blade and make you cut out a section.

 

Ouch!! I imagine it would be a couple hundred bucks

 

no cop can make you take a razor blade to your window...I'll pay my fine respectfully if I'm caught but tell me to do that and I'll tell you to go f*ck yourself

 

Maybe he wont be able to make you do it on the spot, but he can certainly give you a fix-it ticket and make you do it anyway.

 

Well I wouldn't say it in those terms but I agree there is no way I would cut mine up. Give me the ticket and I will be on my way.

They can make you remove illegal items, whether it is tint or light covers etc, and they do, especially in Massachusets. They can also issue a "fix it " ticket. The razor plan came about because they were issuing warnings instead of fix it tickets and found that they were pulling over people for the same thing a second time. In most cases you will get a "fix it" ticket but if you **** them off you will be cutting out a section.

 

They can do it here in NH too, or they will deem it unsafe and call you a towtruck at your expense along with the ticket...

If it was me I'd do that too but, I'd also kick him in the knee then I would run away. And I would be laughing while I was running. I would loud enough that he could hear me so he would know I wasn't scared of him while I was running away.

 

i cant believe the razor thing, thats just ridiculous. In los angeles, youll get a fine or a fix-it ticket, or both. The main reason the law exists out here is so the police officer can see inside the car without worry. Once he can tell you have an illegal tint but your not a phycho, theres really no need to have you cut it out on the spot, your not a threat, just have him fix it.

 

Yeah up here in NH we cannot have any tint on front windows, at least MA can have 35%.

 

i got pulled over and they have a tester that slides over the window and tells them what percent your tint is.i got a ticket but i think it wasnt more than 40 but i had to take off the tint and show the local johnny law that i had removed the tint......then again the cops here have nothing better to do then pull over people with dark tint on windows.........

 

107 Dollars here in CA, I would know since I just paid it yesterday For those of you from CA I was going down I-5 doing the speed limit. For those of you that know that road, then you know most drivers do 90+. So anyways, all these cars are zooming by me and I am laughing at them because I am getting such sweet gas mileage going the speed limit. Then I see a CHP do a U turn behind me and I'm thinking that one of the speeders is gonna get f**ked. Then to my surprise, he pulls ME over. I know the tint is illegal, but I think speeding is much more dangerous. So he just asks for my license, comes back and gives me the ticket. No fix it ticket, just the fine. And it was my first offense, too. Oh well, live and learn...
