Lund Trident Bug Shield

Just curious if anyone has this bug shield on there Screw? I had read awhile back that this one routs the wind up and over your windshield? I would guess this would be good for getting those bugs off of your winshield more so than a regular one.

If anyone has this type, please post your comments, positive or negative.

Thanks!

Jim

I ordered a Lund Interceptor bug shield (clear) and painted it the color of my truck, it looks great and does deflect bugs and other small particles that have a tendency to chip or mess your paint up. I'm very satisfied with the product and I think you can not go wrong with it or any bug shield for that matter, because we all know the front end of any vehicle takes a beating over time.
Hope this helps...

Lund Interceptor

Ya, I 've got one too. I guess I'm happy with it. I say I guess because it does what it is supposed to do and looks nice in my opinion.

The only reservation I have is that the outer 9-10 inches shake around more than I would like to see at 65 MPH. It is not much mind you I just wish it was a little more stable on the outside.

Oh, ya . . . if you get one installed, check to make sure that when the hood is closed that it does NOT touch the metal work above the grill. Mine did and it rubbed a little bit of paint off. I just used a file and removed a bit of the plastic to solve that minor problem. You can not see it at all.

The Lund Interceptor does not touch your hood at all AND leaves enough room to clean and wax your whole hood. In that regard it is a nice design.

I would buy mine again.

Guys,

Thanks for the responses. I was looking for info on the Lund TRIDENT and not the INTERCEPTOR.

Maybe I will check that one out as well.

Thanks again,

Jim

I have a Trident and am very happy with it. It is solidly mounted and does not move at all. It also does not rub the paint on the top of the headlight area like the old Bugflectoer I had did.

LakeSands,

Thanks for the reply. Quick question though. Did you have to drill for the installaton? Or use 3M tape? Or better yet, use the existing mounting holes under the hood?

Thanks,

Jim

None of the above, it actually has clamps that hold it to the hood. They are nicely paddedon the outside and I used some small pieces of rubber inside the hood just as a precaution against marring the paint. It is a strudy mount.

Lakesands,

Thanks for the quick reply. No concern with those clamps ruining the paint at all?
