Pretty nice, but as soon as i saw the res met at $18k i knew there was a catch.

Unless MA works diff than other states, he will never get that "clean" title he is waiting for, cuz it's been salvaged. The best he could get would be reconstructed. And the warranty he's talking about goes away with the salvaged title.

I bought a salvaged 99 for a "good price" and it took me 6 months to sell it for much less, quickest i've ever lost that much money.

But your right, it is nice looking.

If it has a salvage title I believe it cannot have any of its factory warranty left. I would go into this sale carefully.

Why would a theft recovery have a salvaged title if only minor front end damage was done? I guess I really don't understand the title issues. I wouldn't risk it though.

My brother had a theft recovery Jeep once and it had a salvage title. I think it is probably because they stripped out the interior and parts and a bunch of stuff like that.

I've heard that if an F series has the wiring harness cut for the radio, the truck is automatically salvaged. I guess since there is one main wiring harness for the truck, insurance co's don't have any for fixing the harness, so they have to call for a full replacement. So the cost of the harness and labor to remove and install it is too much. Kinda sucks that a brand new truck can be totalled just cuz someone cuts a radio harness.

I think whoever told you that was misinformed. I just had an insurance company pay me to replace an entire dash harness on a 00 Durango. The headlite switch burned up and so did a little bit of the connector. They paid $600 for a new harness and 6.5 hrs. labor($429). That is alot less money than having to write off a $30k truck!

But that's a Durango, not an F-series or even a Ford. I'm gonna try to find out about the harness, but if it is all one, your talking about the whole engine compartment and cab disassembled. Which i think would be more than 6.5 hours.

But let me check on it, i don't want to be giving bad info about this. To me it sounds crazy too, but i wouldn't put it past Ford.
