I've got a 2002 SCrew XLT and am in the market for a camper shell, most likely ARE or Snugtop. I have the electric power sliding single rear window on the SCrew and will want a shell with a window that opens to match the openning on the cab. I know that several manufacturers make shells with a sliding window, but was wondering if there's anyway to make that window open electronically. Ideally, i'd like to be able to push the button that slides opens the rear window on the SCrew and also have it open the window on the shell??? Figured this would make it easier to load in stuff like long fly fishing rods without climbing into the bed and manually open the shell window. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

Sounds like a great idea but, I can't say I've ever seen one.

Maybe you could rig something to tie in with your rear window motor to activate the ... umm.... heck, I'm not sure. Stumped me on that one.

Let us know if you can figure one out. Maybe, just maybe, someone makes something like that and you can tie it in with your existing switch and such.

sounds like a job for the geeks at Radio Shack. Every Radio Shack has a resident GEEK who knows all about capacitors and wiring and gears and such. I bet he could design a gear driven mechanism to do it.... or maybe someone here can?

I don't really see a problem with a Snugtop shell. They seal to the cab without a forward window and you can open your cab slider. I would just stay with the electric cab slider and an open front shell.
