Question Lower Ball Joints

I have a 2001 SCREW with 57000 miles on it. Should I be needing to replace the lower ball joints at this point? Had new tires put on and they told me that I need lower ball joints. I would appreciate any information. I love the truck, but my wife is beginning to feel that I bought a lemon. Other problems:

Transmision replaced at 13000 miles
Brake calipers replaced at 50000 miles
Passenger window motor replaced at 40000 miles
Number 7 spark-plug/coil pack replaced at 45000 miles

Thanks,
Mark

98,000 miles on my '01 Supercrew....front end parts are still nice and tight...well, I did have to tighten my front wheel bearings once.

Take the truck to another shop for a second opinion...does the tire shop do front end work as well? Maybe they are just looking for "extra" work.

Why the caliper replacement? Could they not be rebuilt?

It is possible but usually depends on the type of driving you do. Off road driving or rough roads(with lots of potholes) will prematurely wear out front end components. Also oversized tires will do the same. Either way if you dont trust your repair shop get another opinion. Good luck---Paul
