Transmission filter

Anyone know what filter the tranny in our Supercrews takes?
Time to change the fluid as it now has 55,000 miles on it.
Thank you in advance for your input.

The only A/T available for your F-150 SuperCrew is the 4R70W.

-Filter F6AZ7A098A $26.64
-Mercon V Fluid XT-5-QM 13-14qts @ $3.28qt

I just had my transmission service done today and they only used 5 quarts of Mercon 5. I asked why so little and they told me that the trany on my SCREW is the smaller 4R70W the larger 4R100W uses more fluid. This does not fit with what the Ford manual says though????

Is there more than one version of the 70W trany???

dcovell,

More than likely, the reason only 5 quarts were needed was that they did not drain the converter. They probably dropped the pan, replaced the filter and refilled the pan.
