bed cover?

i have a 2001 supercrew. lately i have to carry more and more sales litterature, tools and small parts. the inside of my truck is shrinking. i need a way i can put thing (tool box, parts holders)in the bed and protect them from the weather, and a reasonable protection from theft. i also need the ability to put big stuff in the bed like 55 gallon drums of scrap material.

Any ideals and prices, any one get anything like this in Houston, Tx.

From what you said, it sounds like you should look at the retractable (roll top) covers. Personally, I have a Retrax on mine, and think it was money well spent. However, I know other members on here would say the same about theirs from different manufacturers. As far as I know, there are 3 companies that offer these:

Retrax
Pace-Edwards
Roll N Lock

If you have a bed extender on your 'Crew, I know that the Retrax will coexist peacefully with it. I know on earlier models of the Pace Edwards, you could not use your bed extender with it, but they may have fixed that. I don't know about the Roll N Lock. Take a look at all of them, and if you have any specific questions, feel free to email me.

Just put a ReTrax on my '02 SuperCrew - just like the web site says, it took about an hour, no fuss, no muss, real sturdy, and seems to be a quality unit. Very easy to open and close. The lock setup does seem a little chintzy, but no matter what you have, if someone wants to get in, they will.
