Overhead Console Question

I have a 2002 KR 2wd with the Automatic air system. My truck also has the moonroof. With this configuration, I have a smaller display with no overhead console. Since my outside TEMP is displayed on the Auto air, the only thing I can get my overhead to display is the direction of travel. My brother has an F250, and his will display MPG, Miles to empty, etc.

Should my overhead be displaying more than just direction? Do any of the F150's display the mileage info on the overhead?
Just curious. I thought this was a nice option on the F250, and since the KR is loaded out, it seems as though this would be included.

Only on F-250, not offered on the F-150, figure that out, you would think it would be the exact oppsite

???

I though that the Lariat and higher all had the MPG and gas info on that display? I was told that by my dealer when I was picking out my XLT.

I would call a Ford dealer asking them like you want to buy a new KR and see if that is suppost to be there. Maybe the wrong module was put in?

I have the 2001 F-150 Supercrew Lariat with moonroof and all I have is the temp and driving direction. That's also all that is listed in the owners manual. I was a little disappointed with that too.

I'm suprised that the 2001 Lariats don't have the temp readout in the o/h console. The 2002's has it in the climate control, but that wasn't available on the '01. I would like to have a trip computer on my '02, but Ford had a better idea. I liked the one in the overhead console on my '97 Dakota. Even the map lights were better that the Ford or even my Acura.

I guess Ford Decided to just put it in the 250's. Seems like the Lariat and KR would have it, since they're supposed to be loaded out. Guess I'm not the only one that wishes it was included.

Thanks for the info.

I have a 2003 SCrew Lariat that is loaded

and it shows the outside temperature on temperature console with the "Outside Temperature" button and the overhead just shows the direction. My truck is 4WD, FX4, Lariat, and it does not have a computer that will show miles to destination, MPG, etc. etc.

02 KR here, same thing. The EB Expi's have the MPG and the other stuff in there too. I have no idea why they won't put it in the F-150. I wonder if you could put one in there from an expi.

Yeah, Im with you ViperGrendel. I would think it would be pretty much a perfect swap. Can someone out there tell us for sure if this would work ? Maybe ShowYa would know ??

Same, Dude. I have a KR too; '02 with no info on the overhead display except direction.
My dad has an XLT with direction and temps in the display, but I have not seen whether or not his will display millage - would be nice if mine would.

I'm guessing you could make the physical swap, but where does the unit get the info? From the computer? Just guessing.
