I also have the Snug Lid....i love it. It has locks on both sides, fits perfectly(water tight and everything) and just looks cool. I dont know how much mine was because it came with my truck from the dealer. I have hear about 700 and up though like everyone else was saying!

I have the ARE LSII and have had no problems. The fit and finish is good and the hardware seems to be holding up well. I like the ********. I would have considered it if I had known about it when I bought mine.

How much did you pay for your Snuglid. A local retailer in Houston, TX wanted $870 installed. That's outside my budget. Should I try to talk them down or it that a reasonable price already?
Kaliscrew2k2, same story here in Louisiana. I went in to buy a Snuglid and the dealer wanted $930. I choked. The cost of those lids goes up dramatically the farther you get away from California. I ended up getting the TriGlas which is sturdier and almost $250 cheaper. They are made in Alabama and only availbale in the south. No regrets.

I have the ARE. Liked the Snuglid, didn't like the dual locks... pain in the a$$ enough to have to key it open, let alone twice. Sorry guys, but the are had one, with horizontal key entry (less chance of keys falling on the paint). I now have a keyless entry on the ARE, third unlock on the factory keyless fob unlocks the ARE. There are some deals going on at different shows where if you buy the ARE, they are throwing in either underside carpeting or the keyless unlock. Lifetime warranty on the paint too. I love the keyless....

Another view of a Snuglid. I have no complaints except it needs a handle to lift open, also, would like to add the keyless lock.

If I had to do it over right now (bought the Snuglid in 2000), I would buy the Undercover. It's less money, lighter, and you don't need to wax it! Color matches the bedrails, and if I bought another S-crew, I could put in on it.
