Vent shades, noisy or not

Just got a 03 XLT 4x4 Screw and was thinking about installing window vent shades. My wife's minivan seems to have more wind noise after installing them.

What do Ya'll think ,,,,,,,,,NOISY or NOT????????????

I've had weathertech vent shaded on a couple of my vehicles, and haven't notice any additional noise.

I would highly recommend weathertech because they go in between the window and door instead of being taped to the outside of the door. I just got a set for my '02 but have to wait until it gets warmer out to install them.

Cool

I know that the Vent Shades have caused my 'Screw to have more wind noise.

I think I want to look into what bdmofo is talking about...

Here is a pic of the Weathertech ventshades, notice how they have no tape to attach with and go all the way down by the mirror. I have had mine for three weeks and love them compared to ventshades brand

Also Got Weather Techs

Put them on the night I got the truck home. really couldn't say one way or another on that, I only had 6 mi on the truck when I put them on.

I can still hear my xhst and stero fine...does that count ?

Go with the weather techs. They are made a little better then the vent shades brand, and withoyt the tape to worry about getting the hairline releases in it, no worry about small drops getting in the truck ! ( last truck had vent shades, and they did this after 6 years )

I had Vent Visors on one truck then on my 01 screw I put Weather Tech's. I would never use anything else. Love them !!
The weather tech's are nicer finish , no tape & yes mine were quiet.

When it get's warmer I'll put them on my 03 Screw.

Love mine and quiet...

I have the Ford Ventshades and I love them, reduced in cab wind buffeting and also makes the cab a little quieter with the windows up. I do like the look and fit of the Weather-Tech more and I can see those on my horizon when the ventshades start to oxidize...

Has anyone had any trouble with the W-Techs popping loose, stolen or anything like that?

Later,
Chris (ReelWork)

I have have no problem with them letting loose anyplace.

As for stolen, they would have to roll down the window and pull them out. Me thinks if they had the window down they would be stealing something else.

They actually lock in pretty tight when installing them, so with the window dslightly down for vent when parted, even if someone tugged on them, they do not move. It would take a serious Yank to pull them out with the window all the way down.

As for the Vent shades turnign that hazzy look, if you have access to a buffer, just put wax on it, and buff them, they will come back completly, I did this several times on my last truck.
The other option is a longer process but if you go to a motorcycle shop and get windshield polish you can also use that, but it is alot of elbow greese to get it done that way.

The WT don't seem to do it so far, but I cannot recall how long the VS took to haze up.
The WT have been on from May-01 to curent, and no sign of it yet.

Another vote for the Weathertech's here. They look good, are made well, and no NOISE.

I have them on my 03 Screw and love them.

My .02 cents.

My Weathertechs caused more wind noise ... ON BOTH the Expy and S'crew.

It only makes since that you will have more wind noise. It is not unbearable but it is definitely more.

I have the egr's. They are channel fitted too. They are low profile compared to the Vent Visors. No additional noise noticed....

You can get the weathertech ones from www.weathertech.com

$79.95 plus s/h for fronts and rears.

I've had them on my Crown Vic for a bunch of years and no problem with haze
