Lightbulb Foot Rest

OK, this may seem petty with all the really neat stuff to talk about like the 2004, but I have now taken two trips in my new SCREW and a rest for my left foot sure would have been nice. Is one available aftermarket or has someone made one up for their truck? Thanks

Just kick back, roll down the window and use the driver side mirror.

I was thinking about taking a piece of wood and cutting it to fit, painting it black. Then you could put some non-slip tape (like they use on skateboard decks).

Now if you get the dimentions perfect you could sell it!

What I hate about the drivers side is that the floor mats are cut out on the top left so that your feet can rest on the plastic or vinyl pad. I was a little mad that the catch all floor mats also have the same cut out. My foot tends to want to sit in that area and when I get in with dirty feet, I have to make an effort to keep them on the mat. I wish that someone would have put a little thought into that. Maybe Ford, maybe just CatchAll. Anyway, that is my rant for the evening.

Maybe you should just clean your feet before you get in....

There is no foot rest because our truck's emergency brake is a foot pedal, not a pull handle in the console area. I have heard people ask about the Mustangs, as they have a foot rest. This is the reason. I don't know why you need a foot rest though. The floorboard works perfectly fine as a foot rest, unless of course you have a hole in your floorboard.

Did someone say hole in the floorboard? I had an old Chevy in high school that didn't have much left of the passenger floorboard. Very useful for jetisoning used beer while traveling down the road.

as soon as a saw the "hole in the floorboard" I just knew that a Chevy comment was coming.

I guess we are just all on the same wavelength

dufunnel here is my problem. I am 6'4" and my rather long legs require that my seat be almost all the way back. My left leg cannot reach the floorboard in a comfortable position while my right foot is on the pedals.

On a long trip I my readjust my seat almost 20 times just so my legs can change position. I should have gotten the captians charis but next time...

Foot rest

Dcovell,
I am only 5'10" and on long rides I find my left foot looking for a resting spot. I thought something nice would be an adjustable rest like the adjustable brake/gas pedals. Did not think about about the emergency brake though.

I still don't see the problem. I am 6'5" and I have my power seat all the way back and all the way up. With the power pedals all the way toward the firewall, I have no problems with my left foot. It rests comfortably on the floorboard right where it slopes up, next to the brake pedal.
