Angry Help - Keypad Installation - 2003 Supercrew

I have called numerous dealerships and they think I am a nut when I want to install the keypad on a 2003 F150 Supercrew...

Does anyone know if the 2003 wired for the keypad?

Also, if any 2003 owners have any further info it would be appreciated. I am on the phone now and they can't even figure why Burgundy is not listed...it's a new color for 2003 and they are trying to convince me it's MERLOT....

I'm 99.5% sure it's wired.

Well I installed one on my 01 Lightning. When I was researching it I found that all 2001 and up F150's should have the wiring in the door.

I now have an 03 Supercrew and it has the keypad so yours probably does too since its on an assembly line and all the basics are put on everything (ie wiring in the door)

The best way to find out is take your door panel off. Check www.svtlightnings.com under the 'how-to's. There is a keypad install listed and it is very informative. It tells you how to take the door panel off and where to look for the wiring.

Good luck,
Jerry

Your 2003 should be wired. I performed this on my 2001. Here's the thread that contains all the info and pictures you should need.

I just got a keypad yesterday for my 2003 SuperCab. I took the door panel off, plugged it into the wiring harness behind the speaker, and it worked. My 2003 came with the little card in with the owners manual that had the keyless code on it.

Now all I have to do is order the proper door handle with the cutout for the keypad and I will install it permanetly

Doug,
Do you happen to have any part #'s? Does anybody have a confirmation that the keypad/door handle will definitely work on a S'crew??

Thanks!

The part number for the keypad is: YL3Z14A626AA. I got it from fordpartsonline for about $58.00.

I would assume that if the harness is in the drivers door for it to plug in, it would work. I do not see why a S'Crew would be different than my SuperCab. Did your truck come with a "wallet" card with the entry code on it?

Got It Ordered

Just got off the phone with Gary at Ford Parts Online and they were $60 less than the dealer. Can't wait to get this done!

Got the handle and keypad for $10 off eBay.

It's white, so i have to paint it to match. But i figured for $10 i would give it a shot. I really got it so i could open the doors if i lock the keys inside.

Thumbs up Finally Installed Keypad!

Well we finally got a decent weekend of weather so I did the install on my 2003 F150 Supercrew.
Thanks to everyone here and Ford Truck World it worked out great and never again will the keys get locked in!
Only took 90 minutes and most of that was dragging my tool box and doubnle-checking the directions.
