Squeaky-squawky noise.....
I've noticed a noise a couple of times that seems to come from the rear of my truck. I can really only hear it when next to a building (such as in a drive-thru at McDonalds). With the front wheels turned hard left, it happens just after I release the brakes and step on the gas and lasts for a second or 2. It doesn't really sound like squeaky brakes. It's more of a squawk noise(if that makes any sense).
I'm heading for the dealer to have them look at it sometime this week (along with my 40-45 MPH shake), but just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.

You talking about a sound kind of like when you are on a smooth, painted / slick surface (like a garage floor or a parking garage with a finished floor) and the tires ?"squawk"? as you move with the wheels cut real hard ?

SQUEAK
Could the squeak be inside the cab? My 01' would make a sound as you describe when turning hard right under acceleration or when turning onto an uneven surface such as a driveway. I think it had something to do with the truck twisting just enough to make the sound. To the dealership twice. They found that where the metal side and rear interior panels met there was an overlap that was rubbing only when the truck was flexed a certain way (torsion). They ended up welding the two panels together in the corner near the jack(passenger side). No more squeak.
My '01 SCREW had a similar skrink metallic noise from the rear end for about 5k miles. It made the noise very sporatically at first, then more frequently over time, but usually going into or out of a parking lot while turning. The numbnutz at Capital Ford never could figure it out
... the first time I took it to the Lincoln dealer they found the problem - one of the rear leaf spring brackets was working loose from the frame and needed to be tightened. Shazam! You might suggest to the dealer to check it.
Hasta la taco,
