Locking Gas Cap Install

First of all, this might be the 'stupid question of the year' (granted, we only have a few days left in the year...)... LOL

I got my locking gas cap and really haven't had a chance to go down to the truck and look at how it installs...

The best I can tell, the tether from the old cap will need to be 'snipped' so that I can push the new tether in the hole to hang on to the cap.

Before I try this, is there any trick to this?

THANKS!!

If it's similar to my '99 SC, the tether is held in with a rubber grommet. It's easy to pry out with a small screw driver. The new grommet will push in easily. A one minute job.

Jimb is right. Just pop the rubber gromet out and it comes right off. Reverse for install.

Geesh, that was beyond easy... thanks guys!

I think it'll be a nice addition to my mod aresonal. Always nice to know that a bonehead will have more trouble either stealing my fuel or screwing with my fuel while in the tank.
