5.4 Magnacharged!
5.4 Magnacharged!
Well I did it, I finally ordered the bad boy. My first question is this: What should I expect in the power dept.? I am hoping for some around town fun with the supercharged HDs. Will I keep up? What kind of 1/4 mile times should I expect?

FordTrk,
A Ford Explorer Sport Track? Almost bought one instead of a supercab. Very nice looking vehicle! But, I knew there was no way, I could ever put a Harley heritage softail in that bed! ha!
Don't know if anyone has much experience with a supercharged Sport trac. Was going to ask same question as Raoul and then some including:
1. what does it weigh?
2. what is the rear end gear ratio?
3. auto or manual trans.?
4. what size tires?
5. What other mods. do you have or plan to get?
You should take a f150 supercab 5.4 off the line. But, not a HD 2002 supercharged supercab. It has the lightning 5.4 which as you know is not a stock 5.4 that is supercharged. The internal engine components are "beefed up".
If your Sport trac weighs as much as a single cab F150 and with no other mods. except for the supercharger, I would think you would be looking at mid to low 15's in the 1/4 mile. Just guessing.
(I edited this post to reflect that I meant to "guess" that it was a Ford Explorer Sport Trac not a Ford Tracker.)

His profile says 2001 F150 SuperCab Flareside.
I would assume 2WD.
That would be a little over 16 in the 1/4 stock.
The Magnacharger would take 1 to 1.5 secs off that(who knows?).
Once again assuming 3.55LS.
With an open rearend, he'll spin all the way down and see a .5 second gain at best.
Fordtrk, to see what you bought, take it to the track before you mod.

Raoul,
Now that is the funniest sig. I have seen yet! ha!
FordTrk,
on my 99 F150 supercab, flareside, 4.6 auto trans. with 3.55 rear end and too tall 265/75/16s, and the superchip pulled out and the only other "mod." is a rectangle opening I cut in the stock airfilter housing, I am beating mid 90's v6 & v8 single and supercab chevys and new V6 & v8 single and supercab chevys off the line and down the line with my magnacharger. I still need a re-programmed superchip, trans. shift kit, magnaflow exhaust, airforce one airfilter kit (or better yet, an air tube shaped like a horn) and some shorter tires (mine are 31.6 inches tall, stock is 30 inches tall and I am going to a 275/55/17 which is 28.9 inches tall) Remember, the lightning tire (295/45/18) is only 28.5 inches tall. I am also going to go to a 7 or 9lb pulley.
In other words, you will be very fast off the line, but with out a lot more mods. you will not beat a 2002 hd F150, but with your magna kit and your existing mods., you should not get left behind too bad. ha!

Considering that the 7 or 9 lb pulley has to be "Pressed on" I think that is a great ideal! But, of course, make sure you find out what eles you need with that pulley change. When you find out what additional mods. if any, please let us know.
