Crash,
do you know if the pumps from PSP would work. it looks to me like they are the same as a stock L pump but supposedly better. I was just wondering if they work. I dont know if i am crazy or what but the pump is making me crazy. i think it will be much better on the frame, because most of the sound is a vibrating almost. like bilge pump in a boat. i dont notice it except for when i have the music low or off. and that isnt very often, so for now it is ok. and i think i will stick with it once i remount it. good luck getting your truck tuned right 00expo. I think once you get it tuned and get past the 500 you will really be pleased. I am more and more happy with the charger day after day. i dont know why but it seems to run so much better now. i think alot of it has to do with the Inlet air sensor. The S&B filter too i bet. But, i cant wait to get the rest of the mods!! Keep us posted on your tuning.

Please keep me posted on any headway you make on the pump, I too am looking to ditch the boost-a-pump. Not only because its loud, but I just dont like the idea of having anything like that hanging in the open under the truck. For a street truck no problem, but I can just about bet ya Im going to be buried to the doors in mud someday and I can see the pump getting forcibly removed.

Overall I am pleased with the ATI as well. Even my girlfriend likes it now that she drove the truck. She was always teasing me about the money I dumped into it until a couple weeks ago we were visiting realatives and she needed to goto the store so I tossed her the key. She mentioned "getting on the gas a bit" and then she said "thats when I fell in love with the turbocharger"...haha, yes I corrected her

ill keep you all posted. im sure the L pump is enough. but i figured it couldnt hurt to go for a PSP pump if it works. i dont know the cost of an L pump except through JDM. and they mark up ALOT. the PSP pumps are 300. JDMs price for the L pump is over 400. Ill let you guys know what i decide. for now i am going to remount the ATI pump. if it is much quieter i will probably keep it, at least for a while.

Did it work? Your rubber insulater. I would think it would, I think I just used some rubber washer/bushing things I had. It makes my wonder if mine is working since I have never heard it. Maybe I will double check it again this weekend. I suspect I just can't hear or feel it over all the other stuff I have going on with my truck running. Blower, electric fans, stereo, exhaust, plus when I am moving, I get the whisle off the mud terrains.

I'm happy with it. I hear it when I turn on the ignition and once in a while at very low RPM's like in a drive up window or something where you give it short stabs. I am still considering the in-tank though.

Exclamation

STRIKE THAT LAST POST !!!!!

I figured out what the annoying rattle on the ATI was. It is the upper tensioner pully bearing. It has a tiny bit of play behind the ring clip and thats enough to make it rattle. I shimmed it w/ a PVC washer tightened it back up, and now its smooth as silk, and SOOO much quieter.

BUT.... Now I can hear my fuel pump!!! Man, it IS annoying!!! I will definately go with an in tank unit now. I just have to figure out how to mount it in the tank. Still trying to see a diagram or something from the Lightning setup. My shop manual (1999) shows the exact setup for my Expedition as the Lightning.
