and about the engine light. i got one because i had the temp sensor connector loose. it took a while for it to come on. i would check all the connectors. then check very closely for a vaccume leak. after that reset the CPU by disconnecting the battery for 15 mins. if the light goes back on, i would try to take it to a dealer and get them to pull the code. then crash can probably tell you what it is. i would guess it is sensor or someting related to the blower install that took awhile to trigger a code. where did you hook up the vaccume line for the bypass valve and FMU?

Thanks Steve. I haven't started anything yet. I had to install new headers due to an accident. Never did get it to work right! So now thats done I'm ready to start the ATI. I have all day Fri, Sat, Sun. I may have hosed something up on the header install. I will have everything apart this weekend anyway, so who know's what I might wrong! I'm also still battling the electric fan control wiring.

Anyway, someone mentioned Auto Zone will pull the code for free. I'm gonna try them today. Thanks for the help!

Make sure you talk to Jim at JDM if there is a problem. He is swamped, but will get the job done.

For what it's worth, I talked to the guys at JDM on Monday. They said they would be closed for like 2 or 3 weeks and won't be back till Sept 24. I had to wait till Sept. 25th to get an appt.
The truck will run fine with the air temp sensor between blower and bypass (which is where ATI says to put it) Crash/skid simply rcomend moving it to the front side of bypass for a bit more power which is just done by switching the 2 rubber elbows and can be done in 10 minutes if you decide to change it later......assuming your wires are long enough.

As for JDM I was thinking of getting my fuel upgrades as well, but if they are closed till late sept I may go elsewhere too.

JDM seems to be a good tuner and got's the skills but the rest is a hit or miss. A month is no big deal to wait for a JDM product, you just need to be a very patient person when dealing with JDM and you'll be fine. If you schedule an appointment don't get your hope's up, they are very busy and might need to reschedule.

Im not in their area so dont plan on going in to there shop, but I was hoping of getting fuel upgrades prior to winter(no fun to work on vehicles here in minnesota in the winter, heated garage or not). Looks like I will be finding another supplier or waiting until spring.

i personally dont care how busy they are. that is not the way you should run a business. thier parts are rediculously over priced anyway. if they keep treating customers like this they wont be swamped anymore. the only thing i couldnt have gotten elsewhere is the chip. but im sure i could have gotten crash to give the code to mike troyer. im sure he has better service. i plan on buying a new water and fuel pump, it will not be from JDM. there is no reason to wait a long time to get a generic part. i am going to call jdm now, and if they are going to wait till september to send me my parts. they will give me my money back and i will go to someone who cares about customer service. the thing that angers me most is that the guy at JDM..... jim i think? told me he would ship my stuff out "this week" that was over a month ago. i am also having customer service problems whith lotek. it seems like everthing i order just never shows up. i am more upset about JDM because i ordered almost 1000 dollars worth of stuff. i would think they would want to keep me as a customer. aparrently not????? thanks for listening to my venting. i will be here and waiting for my mods. and good luck with the install. you will find that it isnt very difficult and pretty fun. just look out for the things talked about earlier.

Steve, please keep me posted on your progress. Also if you would care to share with me the sources you end up using I would be very appreciative. And lastly, let me know how the upgrade goes and if the fuel pump you end up with works.

Most of our upgrade parts from JDM are actually ford racing parts. You can go else where if you want to get the parts now. We go through them because they include the chip burn with the upgrades. They are busy and they do have the fastest non N20 "L". This is why they have so many customers. besides Jim is a wiz at tuning the chips. as you get deeper and deeper into mods you will find parts take longer to get and do not fit perfectly so have to be modified to fit.

Patience is the name of the game and besides you have me and crash! for customer service

Bare with JDM for tuning etc. they will get your stuff done. If you need the parts now then go to a ford racing retailer.

Just a note. when I build a promod bike for someone it requires a year and a open checkbook.

I have been waiting for over a month for JDM also. I have been told many times that it will ship out tomorrow. Last they said, maybe tomorrow (Friday). I asked them straight, have you even burned my chip. No they haven't. It is almost 6 weeks now. I am also considering going to Mike Troyer, this is terrible business practices, and will likely be the last time I deal with them

I just received my S&B filter from LoneStar Performance (thanks for the link Crash!)
Together with a print out of this thread, I guess I have something to do this weekend! Once again, I get the benefit of letting someone else work out the kinks before I do the install. Man, I love this site!

JDM had my my truck for two weeks in May to tinker with and an 8 hour day in June that included 5 runs with different codes. If you have the patience...wait, its well worth it. They will be in Illinios and Texas for most of September. I'm schedule to go back on the 27th of September, so they can spend the day with the 12psi pulley.

I called them today. they said my stuff shipped out. but they accidentally shiped it to mark lancaster (skid) this makes no sense because crash placed my order and he said he put my address on it. and i know i put my adress all over the chip spec sheet. when i called oday they didnt know what the hell was going on. i will never buy anything from them again. even if they do come through. they dont keep records. they dont even know where they shipped my stuff. i know crash is working very hard to get it worked out. and i feel badly that he has to work with JDM when they dont know how to run a business. im sure i will get this all worked out. but i am not pleased with JDMs service. i would hate too see how long it takes to get a reburn when you arent even paying for it!!!! if it takes 2 months to get a 1000 dollar order!!! i am thankul that my chip is burned for everything, so i dont have to send it back. Mark, let crash know if you got my parts by accident. i dont think JDM know what the hell is going on.... but just in case they do.

You can't even make a F*&king appointment and not be jerked around. Even if you call before hand just to double check your appointment after you show up first thing, you can stand around with your finger up your *** for a couple of hours then when you finially decide F this place you'll get the OH sorry I can't do your truck today can you reschedule................ He has a busy business and he takes care of who he thinks need be. Some get the VIP and some don't, bec it seems either you get VIP treatment or your just left on the back burner. They will charge you first then worry about getting you your product. They have so much business I do not know why they need to use this practice when ordering?

Skid, I think people being told it will be shipped or it's shipped and you damn well know you didn't ship jack ****, that is bad business. I'm sure you tell your customers the real time frame in which something needs to be done or shipped.

It also seems if you can meet them at a track they will take care of you and they have all the product for you to purchase.

Forgot: PLEASE do not e-mail with remarks on JDM, I never said he doesn't know how to tune or work on his rides etc, JDM's customer service just plain outright sucks.

Steve...I will be on the lookout for your package. I have received several orders latley that were supposed to go to different addresses. The shipping guy made a mistake and has been shipping all orders made by us or customers of ours to me. Also keep in mind FedEx has been having problems lately. I received a package yesterday that was shipped last week and it arrived via a budget rent a truck. I will let you know if I get it and will make sure you get it in the shortest amount of time possible.
