To release the pressure, I unplug the fuel pump inertial switch plug in the passenger footwell and then run the truck until it dies. That way you know there is no pressure. When you are done, do up the connector and fire it up.
With the truck shut off, the pressure in the system stays at 30-40psi if you don't bleed it down. I wouldn't mess with it.

Thanks all for the needed info.
I ordered the Isolater seperately from the mechanical fuel pressure gauge. I am assuming that it is to isolate the fuel and possible fumes outside the truck!
Got my boost gauge up and running (thanks Derek)
Installed it into the area next to the steering column.
