Question Intercooler question

Flats/Derek or anyone else packin an Magnacharger, have you bothered to see what the "normal" temp of the cooler fluid is when the engine is "warm". Grabbed the coolant hose today after taking it out for a drive and it was pretty cool. Outside temp was about 45 degrees. I have a small fan that I was considering mounting to the intercooler, ut it seemed pretty cool as it was. Any thoughts?

Cool

I noticed that the intercooler runs pretty cool. You can leave you hand on it after driving around town. A larger reservoir that holds the fluid might be an option!

Exclamation

just make sure the fan doesn't restrict any cooling.

Do you guys have front mounted intercoolers?

Would a radiator from a liquid cooled motorcycle work for this aplication? A friend of mine has a radiator that I was thinking I might try. Do you (any of you) think that the flow rate would be adequate? Would there be any advantage over the one that comes with the kit? How cool can we get the air?

if you want to drop the FMC temp, get a liquid spraying system (ref: WRX STI by Subaru). It'll spray the intercooler with water

If you REALLY want to drop the temp, use an a/c to air exchanger.

You can only get the air as cool as the medium you're using to cool it (in theory). In reality, it will never get that cool except when you're @ a stop.
