Question Who has done turbocharging?

I did a search for turbocharging and the results were people saying that they may do it later.

Has anyone done the plumbing and slapped a turbo in one of these bad boys?

To be specific about my intent.

I'm looking to put a high pressure turbo charger on a 4.2L. I don't expect it to kick in until ~2500 RPM and I'd like it to definitely let me know it's working (whiplash).

On the 4.2 the only thing offered is the vortech blower. I am working on a system for the 4.6 and the 5.4. It will not be any harder to make for the 4.2. Same engine compartment so the lay of the land is still the same. I would have to change the exhaust header configuration and that is about it. I will be sure to keep everyone posted.

What kind of price range for what kind of PSI?
Will it be a front mounted air-to-air intercooler?

Give us 4.2L V6 junkies preference vs. those V8 guys *nods*

Price is yet to be determined. I will try to keep it in the range of the blowers. The starting kit should be around $3500 or so up to $8000 for a twin system capable of 1200 HP or so. A base kit would not have an innercooler and be around 6 psi where as a moderate kit would be innercooled and have about 12 psi. The details will come forth as the kits are built. I need everyone to keep in mind this is going to take some time to get going. Once done then a whole new can of worms will be opened.

guys

I have a little info. There is a cmpany called turbo driven concepts or something like that that produces a turbo kit(in various stages like skid mentioned) for the 3.8.A while back I shot them an email asking about adapting the kit to fit a 4.2.They told me that this was one of the things they were researching but if they decided to produce on for the 4.2 it would be a while.I haven't been to their site in months so I have no idea what their progress is on a 4.2 kit.I will see if I can dig up the url and post it for interested parties.

I went to post the url and this site was having troubles. At any rate, I poked around at liitle over their and couldn't find the 3.8 kit (I did not download their catalog). However, I do remember that the 3.8 kit was going to produced in limited quantities, maybe they sold all the ones they built

OMG

Geeze, that is one expensive piece of equipment. That definately explains why none of the exhaust shops around here have them either.
