Angry ATI procharger rebuild, where?

Hi all,
To my dissapointment I have a leaky ATI prochager PS1SC with less than 5000 miles on it. It leaks inside as I see oil all over when I take the hoses off. Can anyone tell me where can I go to have it rebuilt? Any inputs are much appreciated.
Regards,
Bill

Holy resurrection Batman!

I started reading this and thought, Wow, these guys are back? Then I read the dates. I would have started a new thread for this question, but anyway, I would only send it to ProCharger for a rebuild. Only 5K miles? How long have you had it? It carries a good warranty.

Also, check that the oil is Procharger Oil. If you engine is blowing oil into the intake, the blower will make it worse and fill your tubes and intercooler with oil. Engine Oil or Procharger Oil?

^ Agree, check that it is not engine oil. Also make sure you did not overfill the procharger, it should only use about 3/4 of a bottle of oil. The mustang guys have found overfilling is one of the main causes of leaking seals, well that and thrown belts.

Hi,
Thanks for the input. To answer the question about oil, it is the ATI oil and I see it right at the exit of the Charger all the way down to engine intake. It is true that I have been using a full ATI bottle and not a 3/4. If that is the case I will run it like that for awhile and see. Thanks again for your input.
Best Regards,
Bill

Hello desperado,
Thanks for your input. I have the unit for about a year. I bought the unit used with 2000 miles on it and I have been using it on and off, not using it for off road or racing. Primarily I am using it for towing. The oil that I am seing it is Procharger oil as I see it from the exit of the charger all the way to engine intake. I have been using a full ATI bottle and this might be the root cause according to another tread. I will adjust the oil level and run it for awhile like that then look at it again. Thanks again for your input.

Use the dipstick to check it, you want it full but not ioverfilled. Don't want to you run it too low and have it crap out either. Some guys on another mustang site are trying different oils (Mobile 1, Royal Purple, etc.). They argue that the vortechs and paxton use engine oil, so why can't the prochargers, valid point but the procharger cannot recirculate the oil to help cool it off, being that it is self contained. Many have seemed to cure thier leak by using a non-procharger oil. But I will wait and see how this affects thier blowers over the long term, let them be the lab rats.

Man I sure would like to know what other oil can be used in the P1-SC because I also have an oil leak. I find it at the bottom of the compressor. And this is after I sent it back to ATI for the same problem. Guess they didn't fix it very good.
