Hood blanket

Anyone running without the hood liner ? I know it's for fires and water protection and yada yada yada, it just sounds so much better.. More blower noise and also I opened the heat extractors more and dropped my under hood temp quite a bit.

When I went saleen hood I quickly found out my stock fire blanket wont fit. Screw it, if the engines on fire I want the truck to burn to the ground and get insurance to total the thing. Sound of the blower is vastly louder with no blanket and the vent in the hood.

Same here, except I'm missing the blower

Did you make your vent functional saleen1013? I cut mine open to actually function.

Yea my buddy on a crotch rocket says if I pass him with a heavy foot my blower screams. I can hear it really well in truck but I have a 22" muffler on my truck to quiet the exhaust down some.

Ah, I didn't realize you actually cut yours. I might do that one day (thought about it quite a few times), but for right now it isn't cut.

Not sure how much of a difference it would make on my 4.6L though, haha. It's probably more beneficial to you having it opened up.

I took a sharp metal punch and with the grill bolted to the hood traced the part that I can cut out. I took a die grinder and cut out the metal and bolted it back in. I have pictures of the hole on my profile thing if you click my name

Awesome, thanks for the insight! Took a look at your pictures and it looks great.

I've looked over your thread about the Saleen side skirts install a couple of times. Have some sitting around but I am undecided about what to do with them.

Had the skirts and exhaust installed for a while. Exhaust was loud but sounded awesome. My buddy drove my truck and melted the skirt where the exhaust comes through. The skirts sucked because they weren't straight on the bottom once installed. I purchased extra brackets to try to give them a clean straight edge. Looked badass close up but from far away you could see it wasnt straight.
