Changing Rear End

Now that I finally got my truck back it's become obvious that I need to change the rear end. Right now I have the 3.73 and with the 35 tires (actually 34.4" stock Raptors) and the combo just isn't cutting it.

I am planning to go with 4.30 unless anyone has a huge feeling against that. Anything wrong with Motive Gear? Thanks

You can't get 4.30's for the front axle - only 4.10's and 4.56's.

Yeah, 4.30 are good, but only for 4WDs. Most folks go G2 and Yukon, but I recognize the Motive name.

You mean 4.30's are only for 2wd. The 4.30's aren't reverse cut so they aren't available for the front axle.

Sorry, I did mean 2WD. And yup, for exactly that reason.

Did you finally get your motor all sorted and everything? I assume so!

Yes I finally did. Took quite a bit of time and a ridiculous amount of money but we finally got there... The last dyno tune put out 338 hp and 401 tq to the wheels. That is a conservative tune (need to run on Mexico premium) on 35's with the 3.73 rear end. It runs really nice and the cams make it sound amazing... I think the new rear end will really set it off nice and make it go like a bat out of hell (for a big truck at least).

Here's a pic...

Looks good! I know how much time and money (and frustrstion) it's taken to get to this point. One hell of a "free" truck, ain't it?
