Went To The Track...Again

More details to come but I ran a 12.3 @ 110.35 today and backed it up with 2 more runs of the same time and speed. Track was slick though. 60' for this run was 1.83. I can only imagine what I might have run if I could have nailed down a 1.70 like I normally do.

What changes have you made since the times in your sig? Or just good DA?

Whew! You'd have been real close to hitting 11s if you had a better hookup!

Swapped the Whipple pulley. Made 13psi and added Torco to my 93. As the day wore on track got worse to the point 60' times were up to 1.9's yet my mph remained at 110. I data logged and found the PCM loved the Torco and was adding timing with each run. This helped compensate for the **** poor 60'.

Guys I have no doubt that a 1.7 60' as I have pulled many times before would have put me at 12.0. What I have found with this truck is that a tenth in the 60' cuts .2 to .3 in the quarter.

when i used to go the track alot i found that cold weather helped my mph but hurt my 60 ft. the cold air made the pavement colder so i didn't grip as good, but the cold air made more hp so my mph jumped up.

i quit going when it was cold, i didnt like losing traction much further down the track than i was used to. hitting a wall at 20-30 would stink, hitting it at 60 to 70 could be a trip to the hospitol.

So 13psi on 3.125? Time to slap on the 2.75 pulley. Did you add much fuel with the handheld?

No, not buying any pulleys untill she's built. As for the tune I made no adjustments. Commanded 11.22 on the A/F and ran Torco with the 93 octane. The 13psi was plenty. No doubt she has a 12.0 or even an 11.9 in her. Just need to hook up.

The data logs look really good. She was happy and adding timing.

As a rule I don't race when it's below 60F for the same reasons. Even then the track needs to have full sun all day. RobertP invited me to come race with he and a few others. Been trying to do this for a few weeks and the weather has not cooperated with us. It rained Saturday and Saturday night and was cloudy until 12. So the track never saw any sun.

No sir. No meth. Don't need it. No killer chiller. Just the Whipple HE and a Jabsco pump. My IAT's rose 14-16F on each run from the burn out to the traps, peaking at 106F on one run. The other runs never saw it rise above 100F. Not bad at all. For an octane boost as mentioned above I used Torco. First time I've done that.

ok, although i have no experience with boosted motors, i know that meth helps keep IAT's and EGT's down helping keep power. I do know that Torco is a good octane booster and helps a bit.
