Thanks for the info Crash! I talked to a performance shop around me and they told me that there was a check valve already inside the PCV valve? Didn't sound right to me, but I'm sure there trying to manipulate me since I'm not paying them to install a blower..

Here's some updated photos! I mounted my air filter, maf sensor and oil pump in a modified aluminum tool box with a scoop

Ive been doing research on this project for about 2 years and made sure to get the best and most reliable parts... but this is my first time building a turbo setup.

Thanks! Yes the turbocharger should be able to get me in the 500 to 600 range later down the road. I actually ordered a 10psi spring yesterday, I hope the transmission will be able to handle it I had it rebuilt a few years ago but had no upgraded parts installed except for alto red eagle bands.

Getting closer.. here are some more pics. Found out I have to relocate my MAF up by the TB. The performance shop by my house doesn't sound very knowledgeable either. They said to relocate the BOV right next to the turbo and to ditch coolant lines to the turbo..

Wow I am glad I subscribed to this thread and that I got back on this forum. You are doing an excellent job. You are right about the performance shop not knowing much. Since it is oil and water cooled, the oil galley is smaller than if it were just oil fed. Hence some people get scared, just run the oil lines and the turbo burns up quickly. Uh oh there goes the warranty. I have seen this many times. Since the turbo is so far back it would be a bad idea to have it right next to the turbo it needs to be closer to the TB.

This is great news. I am so glad I decided to register. I too am looking for a turbo setup for my 08 4.6 SCrew. Can't wait for the end results.

There is guy based out of Indy. This is his website.

He moved in next door to this guy's shop I was working at. He specializes in stuff like this. I cannot for the life of me remember his name, but if you contact him he should be able to give you some direction.

The tuning place was able to get it finally. I ended up returning my SCT MAF and getting a MAFia instead. Also my charge pipe from the intercooler to the TB had to be slightly bigger than 3", they were having problems with it going lean on the throttle from this and couldn't get the fuel table tuned to compensate it. Problem is I'm only making about 5psi of boost right now.. I know there is a slight exhaust leak on the passenger manifold where the flange attaches (didn't get aligned all the way). I plan on fixing that right away when I get it back. Should that bring my boost up quite a bit or will it not matter too much on a V8?

Talked to the dyno/tuner and said the truck is running good on the tune but is not getting out of torque safe mode and there not sure what is causing it. Been about a week of tuning so far

UPDATE:

Having fun racing people everywhere i go (people dont expect a big lifted f150 smoking them! ) But i was having too much fun and blew the motor at 11 or 12psi when racing a bmw... figures. Boost is like crack

Picked up a 4.6 Forged WAP block with Probe 18cc pistons, Manley H-Beam's, cobra crank, melling oil pump, and Patriot cnc stage II heads with turbo cams for a little over 2 grand

Keep you guys posted!

How much did you spend all together on parts before you did this, and would you be willing to fab more of these kits up if you had more interest as my brother is contemplating pulling his 4.6 in his 04 and dropping in a 5.4 to later install a blower but if he could save himself the trouble of doing so by adding a turbo like yours it would be great, and plz some pics of under the hood would be great
