You know I really like the EB, but I think If I were going to race it I would get the 5.0 or 6.2 and throw the Whipple on it.

Lets see now.......you are considering spending money because you lost a race? Think about it, is it that important?

the fact that you lost to an ecojoke means you must turn in your man card and buy a minivan...

you need to figure out what's wrong with your truck

What'd you both run? I outran a 4x4 eco tuned from a roll. Quick truck but when I have traction it couldn't catch me. I'm sure a boost launch in 4 high off the line head eat me while I spin

Gotta ask what you ran. What did the eco-boost run? Something isn't right. You should at least be mid 13's.

Thanks for the vid. A few pointers for you. Drop that air pressure in the rear tires to about 24-25psi for better traction off the line. Also don't stage with your foot on the brakes and gas. Let that converter flash. You will be better off pulling up there and ldling then when the 3rd light turns yellow mat it. Once you get good at it you can start feathering that throttle a little bit. In other words don't mat it. Go 1/4 throttle to halfaway then WOT based upon tire spin. Reducing tire spin on the launch will pick up your times and traps considerably.

4.11 or higher gears would also help with both wheel spin and pick up.

I cant hear in the video (no speakers at work) how bad you or he spun the tires but he is boost launching. You can see he is putting it in 4 high and stalling it up. Are you launching in 4 high? If he is going 4 high with boost launch then thats all that his truck has. Your truck has the ability to go faster then his, just sounds like you dont have the tires to do so.

Also, it maybe his first time at the track, but that is exactly how you are suppose to launch an ecoboost, probably not his first time doing it either.

Also, remember, the Ecoboost may have been modified. CAI, exhaust, and tuning can yield up to 100 RWHP.

Ken- Do you have any data or dyno runs? Any idea of what the A/F ratio is or how much timing you are running?
ok.. yes i do not do any burn outs, just a dry hop to make sure tires are dry.
running street tires and a burn out is a waste of rubber.

also i launch in 4hi.. ANY attempt to leave in 2wd will result in tire smoke!

eco boost was stock excpet tow tune.

yeah i've got a few data logs.. (been sending them to vmp as he re-tunes.

a/f as of right now 11.7 (per gage)

Ouch. Makes me want to stay away from the track until I do a gear swap.

I'd try to get it to hook with just 2wd, more power to the drive wheels rather than power lost to drive train.

Just a thought.
