03 F150 Sport 4.2L V6 Turbo Options
What options are there for this setup? and please dont tell me to sell my truck and purchase a truck with bigger engine. Emotionally attached to this vehicle, so if its not possible, then I wont do it. Ive heard of rear mounted turbo setups, but also hear of delay/lag issues this way. Any options/ideas would be appreciated.
then feel free to have 'em get you a quote for a front mount
I'd rather go turbo than an Eaton M112 on a lil' 4.2 just for ease of fabrication, the OP is worried about pipe so I'd have to suggest the use of a adapter plate: http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/_...eManifolds.pdf
the only thing i find alarming is the lack of an intercooler

Over on v6f150.com you can find more ideas/options. I know of at least 3 FI trucks, 2 turbo'd and one M112 but in all cases lots of custom fab work required. From what I remember the turbo'd trucks were in almost constant need of tinkering after completion.
if you decide not to go turbo, here's a 4.2 / Eaton m112 combo (makes almost 200 horsepower)
Just wanted to share my build I just finished up. It was a blast building this up and I'll be the first to admit it still isn't the fast truck on here but it's definitely a unique one! Share your thoughts, comments, and questions!

97XL makes a good point.
The STS system is simple. It does not require fabrication because there is already an application for our trucks. When a properly sized turbo is used, there is NO lag, I have seen it on the boost gauge. This really is the best way to go, for simplicity. And it WILL run like a striped ape.
Fabricating a custom system will be more expensive than buying an existing system. THEN, hidden and subsequent modifications in adapting a blower or turbo is what gets you. Those small things that rear their ugly head after you make a commitment to fabricating parts to build a custom system end up blowing you out of the water, aside from the frustration. Then the tuning...
If water ingestion is a concern, you can get creative and build a snorkel and eliminate that problem. We will even make it look cool, and add ram air to feed the turbo.
Tuning is not an issue, my partner Mark will get you the code for $100.
