Need some parts and have a few ?'s

First let me say that I'm totally new at this supercharger stuff. I bought a non-intercooled Roush from e-bay. I'm not trying to build a record setter, I just want to be able to pull my 33 foot camper a little better. First off I need the drilled cranks pulley or the adapter for the 07-08 pulley if anyone has one. Second I have installed the MADDFANN electric fan Should I put the factory fan back on? I have watched the temp with the electric and its never been above 220 even while towing in the WV mountains. And finally I'm going to install new intake gaskets when I do the install, will standard Fel-Pro or equivalent gaskets be OK or should I order from Roush? Any other info that you feel I need will be greatly appreciated, like I said I'm not building a racer but I would like to get all I can with the install while still making it reliable. let me know if anyone has the pulley or the adapter and we'll work out the purchase and shipping. Thanks

Reuse the factory intake gaskets. They are reusable and will be just fine. New ones don't even come with the blower kits. Thats how good they are. Efans are generally stronger then the factory fan. Can you be more specific about your fan set up? Size, cfm, 1 or 2? You should be running a cooler t-stat that should be with the kit. Is your kit used or new? If it's used it may not have the t-stat or spark plugs. In which case you will want a 170 or 180 tstat highly recommend the 170 as it will further help prevent detonation. In addition you will want these plugs and gap them at .030-.032 http://m.summitracing.com/parts/fms-m124053v12mm. Also get up with Troyer Performance not far from you in Covington Va and get a custom tune. One tailored to towing and another for just regular driving.

Hope this helps to get you started.

Re use intake gaskets as stated. Do you have the Crush limiters?

I assume you have the install manual.

I have a threaded Balancer but have you got the adaptor and caged pulley?

I run factory fan, no worries, are you getting any codes when unplugging the E clutch?

This is link to the fan I'm using http://www.madenterprise.com/Madfan.htm
I got the kit used and other than the t-stat and pulley adapter it seems to be all there.
Thanks for the tip on the t-stat, I will def get a lower temp one and replace when I do the install. I was planning on doing the plugs also but wasn't sure what to go with so thanks for that also. As far a having Troyer do the tuning will I still need to send the PCM to Roush or can I just do the install and run it with the bypass open and have them do the tuning at there facility? I was going to give them a call and ask them the same question.
Ross- I do have the install manual and the threaded balancer and the caged pulley. Are the pulleys that same other than being drilled and tapped? I found several drilled and tapped on e-bay for $30-$70 each. I do get an error running the electric fan, I think its no fan sensor detected, but not sure. I give it a look tomorrow and let you know.
I hope you all know how much I appreciate your help. Its really great to get help from those that have "been there done that" and not go in blind. Thanks again.

Send it to roush, Roush specifically states . Do NOT run it with factory tuning and sc installed.
Get the roush tune, Then get anybody you want to doa a custom tune for it.at your leisure.

Forget the Roush tune all together. It's crap anyway. Mike can just send you the programmer with the tunes you need. You don't need to dyno the truck at his shop unless you want to. He has only tuned 1000 of the Roush trucks.

Sounds good, I'll give him a call and get everything started. Camping season is coming quick. Another question, Is all the crank pulleys the same size? I need on that is drilled and tapped and mine isn't.

Thanks

I like the idea of having a roush tune as a backup, for a stock roush set up, so that if there is something about the custom tune that you don;t like, all you have to do is to reprogram it back to roush and you can still drive the truck. It may not have the "best " tune for the truck but it is still drivable.
I had a custom tune that the check engine light kept comming on I put the roush back in the computer and drove happily until the custom tune was fixed.

The only problem with that idea is if you have changed the pulleys you have to change the pulley back to stock

I think for the $125.00 Roush charges, that the route I'll go initially then I can always get a custom tune later on.

I believe this setup will allow you to use your stock balancer. http://www.lightningforceperformance...ulley_Kit.html

As far as the tune goes I say the Roush tune is crap but I say that about every sc tune. They leave a lot on the table, trans is usually very sloppy, and they aren't taliored to your needs (example towing).

since it's non-intercooled, and you plan on towing don't forget about the water/meth injection to keep things cool...

i haven't priced a new one from ford but e-bay has 2006 for around $35-40 shipped. I haven't committed to one yet but thats prob the way I'll go.
