Pipe came from the local diesel supply shop. It's 4" marine wet exhaust hose. The pick is it with the BBK tb which has the same opening as the stock one. I simply used the reducer from the Whipple 95mm maf to the Whipple plastic inlet tube as the reducer to neck down to the tb. The elbow I got from Advance Auto for $25 but it was free with a coupon i had. It's a 4" mandrel bend. Needed 3 hose clamps in addition to what was already on the system. Purchased a 3" abs plastic coupling from lowes for $1 and change it measures 3.5" inside diameter. So heres how it lays out.

My custom filter housing, 95mm Maf, 4" hose cut 4.75" long, 4" elbow, 4" hose cut 6" long" 3" abs coupling cut in half length ways as it has a ridge in the middle that would create restriction, the blue adapter from the Whipple kit 4"-3.5", clamped to the throttle body.
All said and done I'm out $40.

Thinking I may bore the BBK unit as it has enough meat to take it to 83mm.

Here's a better pic of how it lays out.

Haven't mailed it yet. It's in the box. Waiting to hear back from Mike. Also considering buying the software to tune it myself. I've always wanted to anyway.

No vac test yet. I have no doubts about the 4" ducting. The restriction now is the tb.

Talked to JDM today. They say they can tune this TB to work via email tunes. So this afternoon I sent them extensive info on the truck and I am waiting to hear back. This thing might be a go after all.

Thanks Crash. It's actually 3 4" ducts feeding it. One into the fender and the two you see in the pic. I don't have any of them ducted for ram air so as to avoid any issues with the MAF. The two you see in the picture drawl air from behind the front bumper. It works quite well. When I did testing under hood temps reached 140f during an extensive idle time. Temps in the box never made it more than 10degrees above outdoor ambient temp. I'll have to find the thread I did on this and send you the link.

Quick update. I will be using the Accufab Throttle body but it will be with a built 5.4 and if all goes well I'll have it ready for fall and up at JDM for tuning. They don't see any problem with tuning this throttle body and Jim Jr has been very helpful thus far. So I am making my list of parts to get and gearing up to make this happen.

I will as I begin gathering parts Ross. Looking forward to this. I've decided on Stage 2 VSR blower cams from Comp. Just trying to decide on a short block assembly I ran accross or a rotating assembly for the block I have now. From what I have gathered thus far 600-650rwhp should be easily attained.

Planning on any head work? Iam undecided on Cams. Maybe a Stage II Blower (springs and locks)

Rotating Assembly should save some $$$. Although a short block leaves a spare just incase.

600 - 650 wheel should be pretty easy. Shame a good quality 93+ fuel ain't available here.

I need to get off my hands and send the heads away.

Not planning on head work. Jim Jr has pretty well talked me out of it. I don't want the cams that need lock outs. I'm liking the 127350 cams and the 26125-24 springs. New timing kit, head gaskets, head bolts, and bolt her together. My dilemma is that I can get the short block already built and making 650rwhp for $1500. However the shop that has it said they would at least re-ring it, and freshen the bearings up. It also has a Meiling billet oil pump on it. So I'm torn between it or a rotating assembly that will run $1800.

Yeah I seem that block for sale. 5.4 2v that lifted a head. I suppose a new set of bearings / Rings would work. Not sure on the oil pump as the 2v pumps are not recommended for the 3v.

Surprised they talked you out of head work. There built 5.4 3v made
540 wheel @ 11psi using there race head (oversized valves)

I wouldn't be selling the original block for a while.
