Well guys I picked up a 97 2wd expedition for the new project. It started off as a 4.6L with 166k on it. Got it up and running and it had a bad rod knock.

So I pulled the motor and picked up a 01 F150 5.4L engine to rebuild. I got the new motor tore down and off to the machine shop for clean up.

I was just going to put the new rebuilt 5.$ in but my friend just found a lightning set-up in his basement that I can pick up cheap! I have read up on the swap and understand most of it, but I do have one question. What do I need to do for the ignition? the factory motor had wires and coil packs but pretty sure I have to some how swap to coil on plug?? How hard would thins be?

LOL yeah I even asked what else he had. That was it, He was collecting parts for a swap on his old f150 and then the motor went south and he traded it in and got a car.

I just remembered that the 01 5.4L also came with the engine harness. Can I use this or should I just make my own?

 

i would use the 5.4 engine harness if possible. i have some parts for sale if you need them for the swap.

 

Hey JD if your still doing this I have a lower L intake you can have just cover the ride to u. Just bought a new intake and don't need this one anymore.

It's been painted Cat Yellow but its good to go and I have some other stuff I don't give a crap about like the L heat exchanger,coolant Reservoir for the aftercooler,and some Miscellaneous petty lightning stuff. Not using any of it and I'm about done with flee bay. Free to u or any one who wants to cover the shipping
