Well finally got my whipple charged truck, need some pointers!!

hey everyone i just bought an 06 f150 fx4 with a whipple super charger with 10psi pulley, pacessetter headers, straightpiped with flowmaster muffler, chipped diablo predator, shift kit and some cosmetic mods and such. it was a steal since im in canada and only paid 14000 it only has 85000kms. so ive never owned anything superchaged so im wondering what i should be doing differently to maintain my truck? and i have an edge programmer to monitor fuel rail pressure and cylinder head temp what are some things i should be careful of and watch out for besides a rainy day and a heavy foot hahaha.

also on a side note it doesnt have a boost guage but i really want one and i dont know what would be better the mechanical or electrical, i want it in my vent. any body done this? and where can i buy one? thanks everyone!!

I have the roush vent pod in my 07, theres a thread with a few pics i uploaded if you search roush vent pod. I went with a mechanical gauge because of the cost difference, but if i had the money id probably go electrical.

Make sure your running the highest available octane, oil changes will probably need to be done more frequently. Generally see guys changing plugs every 15-20k miles.

Who did the tune for the truck? Congrats on the buy too!

lol thanks man. spruce grove near edmonton alberta, the name is ccmr performance. dynod at 389 rwhp and 438rwtq with the 20" rims. 0-60 is 6.1 seconds. but hey i like the sound of it haha loud and raspy. but year i was told the plugs should be changed asap when i bought it because the sc has been on for 10k so ill get some plugs next week, i knew it would need 91 octane or more and 5000kms for me is maximum for oil changes.

was it hard to install the guage?

The gauge is very easy to do. Running the wires for the gauge light bulb was the most difficult part of it, which is not hard. Lol

so is it only one vaccum hose going up to it?? cause thats the way i think i want mine. do you have a whipple? do you just add a "T" and run a 3rd hose to the guage? seems confusing to me haha

No i havea vortech. But yes you essentially just add a hose T and run the third hose to the gauge. Super simple

Almost sounds like 8psi to me. I wonder what size injectors you have. What does the sc pulley say? 3.125?

Yes pulley is a 3.125. I also have a 3.25 pulley I think? I can't really remember but I have the 3.125 in it now. I thought that was a 10 psi? I don't know what injectors but they have been changed for sure.

Just curious, is the Edge compatible with the Diablo Predator?

He just monitors with the Edge, essentially like a scangauge. You just make sure you dont download one of the edge tunes to the truck.

Yea 3.125 is 10PSI well really 9.5PSI. However at that power level you should be around 410-420RWHP. What size tires? 305/50/20? If so I would regear to a 4.11 atleast. The flowmaster isnt helping either but I run a Single in Dual out muffler on my Whipple so if you like the sound I wouldnt bother. It sounds like the tune is a little weak and I would assume you have atleast 39lb injectors as those are pretty standard on a 9.5psi although some run 60s and I run 47lb. I would get the truck tuned by JDM with a SCT tuner and youll gain some power from a better tune.

Yes 305s he did the dyno with them on. And the quickest 0-60 is 6.1 with the 20's the injectors are 55lb. It's a flow master without cats and long tube headers. Where is jdm I live in Alberta Canada...

Thanks
