Another Whippled 04 F150

just finished putting the whipple on yesterday. what a blast. took it to get dynoed this morning. the tuner could only do a second gear run due to the truck deciding to start missing real bad on #8. 360/370 were the numbers. got home replaced #8 plug (cracked porcelain at electrode) no more missing. now to go and get it dynoed again. changed a few things here and there ran as few connections in the hoses as i could. used my airraid housing instead of the pain in the *** whipple one. until next time.

Crash,

i couldnt get a third gear run due to #8 spark plug cracking up. now that the culprit plug has been replaced, i do plan on getting another dyno run.

on another note. whats the easiest way to sell my used intake manifold, injectors, and the maf that came with the original whipple kit. ebay or craigslist and whats a fair asking price? the parts have 94k miles on them.

thanks
joel

Do yourself a favor, save up some money and purchase:

39, 47 or 60lb injectors
3.125" Pulley
Whipple 95mm MAF
JDM tune and SCT handheld

Major difference over the crap Whipple tune. You can probably buy all the listed above from JDM.

Irons1n,
i already have the 10# kit from Whipple. I would like to get a good tune for it, as of right now im running the canned Whipple tune. The local Dyno guy is having a hard time pulling the program off the PCM. I will try to get some pictures tomorrow and post them up. Thanks for looking

Irons1n,

How much did you pay for the JDM tune?

Whipple doesnt sell a 10psi kit with tune. They did for a short while otherwise its only 8psi from them. What injectors and size pulley do you have?

I have a Troyer tune and VMP tune. If I had to do it all over I would have went jdm from the start. The sct tuner handheld is usually $400 custom tune on that is whatever they charge

Iron,

I have both the tune and the 10# kit from Whipple. The Whipple and the 10# kit was purchased about a yr and a half ago, i just returned from Afghanistan after a yr and installed it. So maybe they dont sell it now, but they did at the time. I will be checking on the JDM tune. I dont really care about getting another SCT Xcal 2 or 3 or whatever, but i wouldnt mind having the PCM tuned with a good tune. I dont need three different supercharged tunes unless someone can tell me a good reason to have multiple tunes.

As requested, here are some pictures.

thanks for looking and comments

I'm jealous!

Find yourself a reputable tuner in your area and have it custom tuned on the dyno. Be careful not to beat on it to much until you get it tuned.

Its gonna be fun!

Congrats!

If you have a sct xcal 2 they should beable to tune your truck through it. I got my whipple 3 years ago and asked about the 10psi upgrade and they told me they don't sell it anymore. I dunno..?
