Stiegemeier Venum cooler

its a 5W synthetic compressor oil my Schaeffer oil vendor got 20oz of it for me to try. since it only comes in 5 gallon jugs. it has a special moly blend that reduces friction and bonds to metal surfaces to prevent wear and thus reduces overall friction and heat generated. it also does not aerate at all which is a major problem i saw with the procharger oil. all you have to do is shake the bottle and it will aerate itself, this stuff you shake it up and it does not.

That's a real good price IMO. Around half of what I would have guessed. I assume that price is fitted & pulley with the old snout as a core?
Living in the Rockie mountains, would this be a viable option? as the outside temps ONLY rise during summer.

Well Huitt is the only other 04-08 I know with the cooler.
So you can hardly say its a proven fact that's it's a waste of money. Also allot of FACT's that float around on this site are taken with a pinch of salt.
I will let you know the temps when it's on the dyno.

When the outside air temp is -29c (Minus wind chill of course) I will let you know how the IC system is holding up.
Also Iam thinking how I could plumb a core heater into the IC system?
The guy who is tuning the truck recommended having a special winter tune with a -4psi pulley.

im talking about summer. not winter. IAT2's in the winter dont matter, it takes forever for the coolant to heat up. it will stay almost ambient all day.
what psi you running now?
i agree with your tuner. i dont get into boost during the winter. too dangerous for me to deal with. not to mention even trying to get traction in the snow!!

With stock pulleys the boost will run around 12 psi. I have a 3.4 upper and the elevation here will scrub a little off the top. Not sure if a Ported / Polished TB & PL will reduce it further?
I have also bought a 6.5 lower ring for the winter or maybe all year if the boost is too high.
The beauty of real cold temps is the highways around here dry up real good as the air is so dry.

the way the cooler is plumed the heat it is drawing out of the front drive asembly and does not effect the intercooler per say. The coolant supply line has a small tee fitting that directs cooler fluid to the snout then it comes out to another tee fitting to the return line, so no heat from the snout goes to the intercooler under the blower, just to the heat exchanger in the grill. I have to say it is working for me because I am still seeing 12lbs of boost on a 100* day when it used to drop to 10lbs. The other day I had a spirited run with a mustang up to 120 then back down cruising at 80, pulled over to fill up 20 minutes latter, I popped the hood and was able to put my hand on the snout and it was cool to the touch
