The motor at first will be NA anyway...then when I get the blower I will just keep the NA tune (will have a 93perf and a 87 perf) then I could just swap belts and re load NA tune.
Taking off the belt works ok (ran my truck like that for about a mile) but. It will not run just like a NA truck!
It will be WAY down on power and have almost zero acceleration...lol
So you wont want to drive it very far that way,but it is drivable in an emergency.

Would that be from the restriction of the blower being in the way and not spinning? When you took your belt off for that mile...you still had the blower tune in it?

Yes,I believe so.
With the blower sitting on top of the intake track,it's very hard for the motor to get air.
Yes, it was on the blower tune, but I only run about 16* timing on my street tune.
What happened was the belt got thrown off and I just limped it home to get to my tools.
I carry a tool in the truck in case it ever happens again.

Would a centri blower be better in that situation? Looking at a pic of the procharger setup it looks like you could take one of the rubber selves off the intake pipe and put a filter on the end...almost be like a regular intake. Not that im trying to run it like this...but I go back and forth between a whipple or centri over pullied with a bov...this would be something added to the pro/con column.

Intresting...i ran mine without the belt and it felt like normal. I was actully impressed with the power. First time I had felt the truck with all the mods but in NA forrm. The Whipple was spinning due to suction at 1500 rpm. Doesn't take much to spin it.

That is interesting...maybe it doesnt really matter. Regardless it seems that I could do this in a pinch on either setup if I needed. I dont know that I would ever find myself in that situation again but im just thinking a head....and procrastinating at work

Yeah that is in the con colomn for sure lol. Thats why I would do that bov thing to upp the low end a bit. But I dont know...the whipple on my mustang sure is fun. I Just want the truck to be able to get out its own way and be kinda fun.

No, it never gets that bad here. We're a good 30' above sea level . Always fill up before the storm hits.
