1999 F250 EB Turbo Upgrade?
Hey guys. I have been hearing a lot about the benefits of upgrading my turbo to increase fuel milage and life out of the engine. Looking for any input from others.
My truck is a 1999 F250 7.3 Early Build. Ive heard that the 02 turbos have bigger veins and run around 20psi at cruising speeds, mine currently runs around 6psi.
Now what im thinking is more boost = more power= better gas milage... Is this correct?
Thanks for any input!

My bosses 01 runs like yours around 6psi at 50mph cruise. However I've never heard of a bigger Turbo making the MPG go up. If you want more power look into like a wicked wheel to spool faster. After you do that and an intake, efans, and 4" Turbo back and a tune I don't see how you can really increase MPG. More boost is more fuel consumption, bigger injectors hurt mileage too. I don't know a whole lot on diesels, but from what I've seen from my buddies trucks most get 15-18mpg city depending on the truck

I foregot to mention what was done to it.
It has a wicked wheel, 4" exhaust, Banks trans commander, edge on the fly programmer and an intake.
All of this was done to the truck when i bought it so i am unsure of what the milage was before it all but i can definately tell a difference in RMP when i switch from "Stock" mode to "Milage" mode.
Thanks for the help guys.
