HI!... If you want to stay N/A then the following :

- ported/polished race heads
- CAI
- 4.10 gears
- headers
- exhaust
- electric fans
- larger TB
- after market cam
- a tune
- power pulleys
- port the intake manifold
- nitrous
- swap in a 5.4 (with the mods above)

This is more expensive and time consuming. I've seen 4.2L F-150's with the above mods go low 14's N/A and well into the 13's with nitrous.

Or go with a custom turbo set-up, and add the above mods after wards as money comes along.

No. The 3.8L Essex V6 is a 90* pushrod 2V engine, with an iron block and alum heads. the 4.2L is a stroked version of the 3.8L, with a different plenum. The 4.0L in the 04+ Mustangs are 60* V6, SOHC alum heads/block. Two totally different animals. The 3.8L produces more torque, the 4.0L more HP.

FYI, The Essex plant also made a few 3.9L engines for a couple hundred Mustangs in 1999.

no need for a larger TB IMO. No enough gain for the money.

that's what i thought but there are roots type kits for the 3.8 mustang that could be made to work.
check this out it's for mustangs but it's probably one of the easier and cheaper ways to go boosted in a v6 f150. http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index...=255&parent=96 read everything.

Dont wate your money on one. Only a real blower works. You might and I mean might be able to get 50 e blowers or so to run 8psi LOL. For real you need a v8 with a blower of any type to make a dent in performance
