Centri or Roots/TS more fun to you?

So which do you guys think is more fun? I have the luxury of having both on two different applications and to be honest I think the positive displacement is more fun just cruising around town at low rpms but the centri sure makes a run down more exciting. Nothing is better than racing a roots/TS type and getting beat off the line only to hit boost a few short seconds later and start chasing them down only to pull car lengths in the higher the rpms, lol. I would still rock the positive displacement given the option. You guys?

I agree, (the green truck was procharged and the Harley has the factory eaton when I left Texas...)

sure the positive displacement will get the initial jump but from a roll ance that first 60ft get's out of the way the centrufigal will run it down and then some...

I honestly think most people want a positive displacement in a truck that is driven on the streets daily but then there's the odd ball few that like 'em to pull hard all the way to red line...

I'm in the middle of a power adder swap, so I'll have a good comparrison on the same vehicle, but with the new motor and non stock cams with a ported eaton and some water/meth and other goodies I think the eaton is gonna be way faster than the lil' P1 was...

*edit* a few people have installed waste gates and switched to blwo thru MAF's and pullied the centri's for a lil' more and used the waste gate to control the amount of boost entering the engine with great results, muscle mustangs and fast fords did an article on it a while back...

Honestly all depends on the setup.

My centrifugal unit was faster then most equally horse powered lightnings etc. on the street. Where they would have to pedal to hook, I pretty much just mashed the gas and went. I would leap from them off the line, and just keep pulling on the top end.

I especially noticed this after a run or two. The heaton's would get really hot and you can tell their power went down. Where as centrifugal unit's the heat doesn't effect them AS much.

With the lightning's on slicks where all that down low torque could be used they pretty much left me on the line, but I would slowly start realing them in on the top end. Never caught up in the 1/4 mile but would gain on them.

yeah the roots style suffer a lot, does anyone know if the twinscrews are affected the same way?

Piggybacking your Centri heat comment, I agree. I had my slowbra tuned by a guy who only did street tuning at the time so I drove an almost 2hrs to go see him, he ran the thing almost all day then we drove another 2hrs back to which I immediately got on a dynojet and pulled the same 460rwhp that was recorded a few yrs back. Heat didn't seem to affect it at all in this matter. WEIRD!
