Only difference between a L and your stock shroud is the L has a little hole to bolt the HE overflow tank to. Your fan and the L fan are the same so ether will work with ether shroud..
Yes you should be able to rig your stock one and make it work.

Ok couple of questions... Got the motor and everything looks good and I am going to take the eaton off and the intercooler to clean them and then install a oil serpator but how is it routed the best? I see the L&S is routed off of the fill tube but do I need an additional one on the pass side breather? Cant afford a L&S right now at 200.00 but want to put something on. Also do I need to install the eaton after I put the block in or can it be installed all at once? On a side note I am putting my NA motor in my brothers 2000 5.4 f150 (his is toast) and mine has a 4r70 and his has a 4r100 is there a reason for this?

Thanks again Dave...

Not only is there the intercooler tank connection, but the fan on the L/HD sits further away from the engine for clearance and therefore closer to the radiator. Some have just cut down the shroud about 1 1/2 inches I believe.

As for the tune, i recently ordered a tuner from troyer (showing up thursday) and they gave me a SCT Xcal3 with 3 custom tunes for 500...pretty good deal if you ask me and it has only taken a couple of weeks for them to write it and ship it out!

What do you think would be better a custome dyno tune locally or troyer? The local guys are force fed performance in Sacramento,CA and they want 800 total with tunes and the xcal3. Troyer is 500 I guess?

Thanks for the help man but I have had many terrible things realted to IVM with my friend and I. We race mustangs with nasa and he has put my friends mustang together like a rookie and someone who has no idea what they are doing. Example he brings a t45 to put n my friends 95 cobra that has a t5 and it will not accept anything else. I hope your truck is ok but there is no way I would ever take anything of mine to him.

Thanks Dave

The Xcal III is worth about $400 with basic tuning. So $500 is OK for supercharger, dyno should be more. Normally at least $300 to do 3 pulls without software changes, so $800 not bad. Woodbine did my last tune, since he drag races L's he has real world dyno experience. Dyno is nice, but not required. MAD should have some references.

Wow,,I must be lucky.
Last time I was on a dyno it was $150. And we did 6 or more pulls!

Ok so here is the update, I have installed some ngk tr6's at .38 gap and now I am ready to clean the throttle body/intercooler and intake and then put the motor in. Can I install the motor with the eaton on or is it better to install it when the block is in place?

You'll have more room to work if you install the intake, then the blower after the block is in.

Ditto.

In fact the damper needs to be off as well to fit in the engine compartment (if my memory serves).
