How much boost?

So im finishing up my 5.4 swap in my 97 F150. Ive got a built block with ported pi heads and stock pi camshafts. So the next step is a lightning swap. But i plan on a 2.3 whipple instead of the heaton. Anyway i kept my CR pretty high at 9.65 to 1 for more power off boost, so how much boost can i run safely on pump gas? I know ill be able to run a little more with the whipple due to the cooler IAT2s. Im hoping for about 12 to 13 lbs. What do you guys think?

It all depends on the tuning!

I went from a 8.4 to 1 on my last block and my new block is 9.0:1
With the higher compression I have to run a lot less timing then I did with the lower compression.
Running 16 psi and 9* timing I was getting detonation when I cranked it up over 100mph.
I think my street tune is set at 8&1/2* timing on 93 octane fuel.
