I feel kind of outta the loop on this one but i got a 2003 f150 4.6 and am looking for a TURBOCHARGER. All i have to go off of is my lack of engine knowledge and common sense. When i find/buy this kit do i also need rods, bigger fuel injectors, something about engine compression... im getting in over my head. I should just get a lightning haha. But seriously... help?...!!

the eaton supercharger onto a 2 valve 4.6 is just a hoax, I'm sure you figured that out when the companies that started this kit are out of business.

if a turbo is what you want:

I've been talking to a couple machine shops about making a lower intake to fit the 4.6 2 valve that uses the lightning eaton and innercooler to make this swap that much easier for the truck market

I guess my timing is off, but I have not been able to see anything with these Links to a front mount turbo, although my interest is there.

I wouldnt say its a hoax lol... The mustang and the thunder bird came with a 2V 4.6 and people supercharged them and did big things. Also the only reason Allen superchargers went out of buisness was because they were bought by magnuson. if you talk to anyone with an allen kit they will tell you they love it. I do like the idea of making a manifold for the 4.6L to fit a m112 eaton.

I know its an old thread, but I wanted to at least follow up. Tork Tech is still going strong, and they have actually developed a lower intake for the 4.6L on which you can mount an Eaton M112 off of an 03-04 Cobra, so I am sure that a M112 off of a Lightning would bolt up. It could never be used on a Mustang, due to hood clearance, but the 2 M112's should have the same footprint. They call it the The Terminator package.
The 4.6L Mustang kit is doing well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVbqE_YxiwI
I might contact them at www.torktech.com and see if the footprint would work. We would be more than happy to install the kit, and tune the puppy for you (here in the NW).

Now, the Whipple (SCREW) and the 112s and 122 are a different story. Bigger compressor, bigger intercooler.

For the money, the ProCharger can't be beat (Especially with the D-1SC and a 3 core)! Then, if that is not enough, you can upgrade the compressor!

Yes we are. Now just off Highway 99, next to Winco Foods. As far as power, as you probably saw in the video, the 4.6L in the Saleen, laid down 570 x 582 rear wheel.
I agree tha M90 was not the "hot ticket" although on the 3.8L Supercoupes, with some upgrades, I have seen them make good power. Some over 400 rwhp, but it takes some work.
The Tork Tech Manifold for the 4.6L comes with a dual flow "intercooler" that works much better than on the SVT Lghtnings, but with all the Lightning guys who have upgraded to bigger blowers, there should be a ton of the M112 L blowers on e-bay.

I know you asked crash but I'm pretty sure he'll say.
the turbo is better but the procharger is less money.

I think that 14-16 hours is a bit on the high side. We do them in about 7 hours on the Mustangs. One really nice thing about the 4.6L manifold, it will also accept a TVS1900 if you ever get really good parts. Nothing against centrifugals. I know one Mustang guy that bought the M112 off an 03-04 cobra, and based on his feedback, he came in under 3 grand for the complete install.

With a truck, especially if you are towing, a positive displacement (IMHO) is the way to go. Instant torque. If its drag race only, and you don't want to blow the tires off, centrifugals might be better.

My aim was to let folks know, that here might be an option to pick up a used L blower for a couple of hundred bucks, and make it work.

With a P-1SC and a 2 core, I got 367/400 RW tuned on a stock 4.6.

The best bang is the D-1SC and a 3 core intercooler.

You will not be disappointed. I have SPANKED Magnachargers with the ProCharger.

Turbos are expensive and complicated, but make best power (No parasitic losses for a gain of 100 HP over the ProCharger.

Budgetwise, go ProCharger. I can guide you through the process and upgrades in the future if you wish.
yea that would be great! i let you know when i can get some money together lol... which is after college (im a freshman) lol but when i get the money ill definately look for you thanks!
