Here's what it will look like when you open up your box.

A different angle:

Unfortunately the Ford Racing decal is just that, a sticker. On my 3300 mile drive back to Alaska from Vegas, the engine got hot enough that mine is now at an angle. I'm amazed it didn't come off.

Did yours come with an intercooler?

I think it must have as that is what the additional coolant tank in the foreground is for.

I am thinking of getting one of these and installing it myself, do you have a copy of the instructions in digital format that I could look at. I would like to see what I would be getting into.

No, I don't have them digital, just the hard copy that came with the supercharger. If you have a fax number, you can pm that to me and I'll fax you a copy.

It doesn't look that hard, especially if you have some experience and knowledge of working under the hood. Just a little time consuming.

He's right. I did my own install. Just took my time. There are a few things that you'll need but if you have a good tool box you'll be OK. If you need help you can call Whipple email me and I'll help. I think people are paying $880-$1000 for the install. Its pretty much bolt on and the instructions are pretty good. Oh, and that instruction manual is 40 or so pages if you're going to get it faxed!

Also, I have looked all over the net for a good price. Where can I get a good price on the whipple?

For example I am in the process of upgrading the front rotors on my truck. Everywhere you go you will fine the Baer Eradispeed +1 rotors going for $800.00 + dollars. I found them here for much less and only $10.00 shipping. Can I find a similar deal with the Whipple?

10-4 Looks like you're set. With a tool box like that you might not even need the tools inside!! The only thing I had to scrounge was a low value inch pound torque wrench. Mine did not go low enough.

What all is involved with reprogramming the PCM? I cannot fathom adding something like this does not require some PCM mods.
I would also assume that you need supporting mods: i.e., exhaust, CAI.

Sorry to butt in here. I am a newb to this board. Do not have my FX4 yet, but I am planning well ahead of time for mods.

I do know that in the GP (Pontiac Grand Prix) community, the Whipples are very very hard to actually run with any consistensy. A few have tried... and failed. But there is one person currently trying and having decent success. I'm encouraged by how many topics I've read so far concerning Whipples on this and other F-150 sites.

Turbo, the basic Whipple kit does not need an aftermarket exhaust, but Whipple recommends it for any upgrades or running higher boost. The kit comes with a cold air intake that sucks in air between the inner and outer fender. So far I have not heard any negative feedbacks on the Whipple, except for the stock tune having a speed limiter, and the dyno numbers are a little lower than advertised (imagine that). You can purchase a tuner kit, where you do your own tune, or the standard kit which includes a tune from Whipple. Several folks here have custom tuned their trucks with Whipples, including mine, but Whipple made my custom tune with my truck on their dyno. To get the PCM programmed in, you send it in to them while your supercharger is being installed. They might have changed that though and could be sending out a tuner now, which is hopefully the case.
