Procharger or Vortech Supercharger

I'm in the market of getting a supercharger for my 03 F-150 with 4.6. I'm a little torn between Procharger and Vortech. I'm definitely looking for a supercharger that gives me alot of boost thru my entire RPM line. Besides finding one on EBAY, does anyone know of any good places that offer pretty deals on both of these?

Thanks,

Brian

Well Bixbystx, I'll give you my opinion. Six months ago I was making the same decision for my 01 SCAB 5.4 2V 4X4. I went with the Procharger for a few reasons. #1, You don't have to tap the oil pan ( I might sell the truck in a couple of years & may want to keep the S/C). #2, a performance shop told that the Procharger is much more aggresive than the Vortech because of the higher boost levels. #3, Procharger and ATI seem to be more involved in racing than Vortech. And finally #4 the 3-core intercooler seems to be more effecient at cooling the compressed air. I've been very happy with my Procharger. I got mine from Crash at trixters racing via this site, Good luck getting ahold of him though. lol :santa:

So to those who have experience with either blower, vortech and procharger. If both were intercooled, which is a better head unit for the street. The S-trim or the P1sc? At 12psi intercooled, would there even be a difference? Does one make more torque than the other, is the tensioner in the vortech better than the crappy procharger design? One is self contained, the other you tap the oi pan. I would like any response from the vortech guys since ther are the minority and hear thier expereinces. What kind of power did you put down and at what boost level?

he is no longer a supporting vendor here and i have a good guess as to were he is but it seems a few that know dont want to say, so i probably should not make a guess.

Where is Crash?

In my estimation, Crash (a/k/a Christopher Derek Byford) is in jail. Crash pleaded guilty in a case where he was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (among other charges). The case is CF-2005-680, District Court of Tulsa County, State of Oklahoma, State of Oklahoma v. Byford.

From reading all that, the first thing that comes to mind is the chase scene in the Blues Brothers, except it's a blown F-150!

That's really too bad, I hope he can straighten out his life.

i'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that the "dangerous weapon" was his sooper fast f-150. that's too bad though....Derek gave me a lot of good advice on choosing a blower kit and he actually offered to fly to Cali to help install it. now if that alone doesn't make him eligible for a reduced sentence then that would be a serious injustice

Enough with the stupid comments, so what if he helped you out with your supercharger. Funny how everyone thinks its funny to run from the cops (in his mustang, he sold the truck) and put innocent peoples lives in danger, not to mention the police themselves. Derek was a nice guy, but that does not trump what he did. Grow up!
