2005 Roush Setup - What N02 To Run....

What's the best nitrous setup on here? I've got a Trident 5.4 with a Roushcharger and I'm curious what I can run without tanking the motor.

How do you like your roushcharger? Was thinking of getting this kit, not intercooled though (its hot here). How loud is it. Any dynos or 1/4 numbers?

Sorry, Triton. Late night. I love the charger. Loud. Very loud. You can hear the whine inside the cabin like you're sitting outside the truck. That's with all the windows shut and the A/C on.

It's not intercooled, and I wish it was. Do get the kit. I highly recommend it.

I'll get the true numbers once the temp drops below 112° on a regular basis. Expect to get around 430 CHP and 480-490 CTQ.

I'm hoping to get this beast down into the low 14's. (target: 14.1 @ 96 MPH).

I would love an explanation of nitrous if possible. I know what it does (basically), but I would like to know what you need to get your truck setup for N02 and roughly how much it would cost. I would hate to blow a new 5.4. Thanks. I too would like an answer to this guy's question, a safe amount of injection. How much of an improvement in power for each # shot is there as well on the 1/4. Example answer: 100 shot should get rid of 1/10ths of a second on your 1/4 mile.

You will want to go with the NX wet kit.

In a nut shell the nitrous does 3 main things:

1. It cools the intake charge (alot)
2. It introduces more oxygen (the 0 part) when compressed.
3. The Nitrogen (the N2 part) acts like a buffer to soften the combustion process.

The wet kit will introduce the extra fuel needed to go with the extra oxygen.

since you are already blown, stay with a 50 shot. You will be suprised at the extra wham out of the hole. I knocked 5 tenths off with my truck running the blower (ATI) at 12 psi and a 50 shot.

Thanks for the explanation skid, however, with such an expensive blower I would think it would give you more than 5/10ths of a second improvement! But what do I know, I am looking at the whipple (gonna have to wait apparently) which should give second(s) difference on the 1/4.

Thanks again bud.

He means that just the NX alone, knocked off 5/10ths.

I'm confident this one will run mid 14's, but I won't know for sure until the G-Tech is installed.

flanaganman, that's excellent news about the intercooler. I'm going to call and see if mine can be a test mule again.

Wow. What in the hell, that is a lot of money to get in the 14's. And HIGH 14's are slow, anywhere in the 14's is pretty slow to me, I am hoping to get my lifted (coming soon) truck in the 14's, anywhere in the 14's, I just want it in the 14's. Wish me luck. I am waiting on the whipple, hopefully that will outdo the roush (I am willing to bet it will).
